2026 SE can't find replacement wheel in Canada

I have a 2026 Prius Prime SE, with the 17" wheels. One of the tires has developed a bulge with only 10k km on it. The dealer is saying they can't get replacement tires.

I'm assuming if I change brands I'll need to get a set of 2 tires to go on the same axle. Anyone know if it's possible to get the OEM tires? Or have experience with replacements for this weird size?

Removing or replacing parging?

We own a 100 year old house with a stone foundation. We're having the outside walls repointed, but the inside walls have been previously parged and painted with some kind of water sealant paint. The parging is in poor shape and the paint is flaking off.

Is it possible to remove the parging and just repoint the interior stone as well? Our mason told us they don't recommend parging stone foundations. Or should we remove the old parging and replace it with a new layer?

Mold testing for rubble foundation

We recently bought a 100 year old house with a rubble foundation. We don't have leaks or free water in the basement but there is florescence and patches of dark and light. There are also gaps in places between the stones.

Since we moved in I've had health problems and I'm worried they're mold-related. Is it worth getting the foundation tested for mold? Is it possible to remediate? Should we just parge everything?

Square v Round edges

Just saw Bont released Royal Assassins with a "derby edge", which is rounded like the Rollerbones Turbo/Nitro. Do people like this? I love a square profile wheel for jamming, when I tried a round profile I had an edge slip out and twisted my ankle.

Painful, red and scaly dry skin on lips and lower eye lids (34F)

I (34F) have had recurring issues with extremely dry, cracked and painful lips for about a year. Patches on the upper lip but recently in both corners of the mouth. Moisturizing helps with the discomfort but it's not clear to me why they come and go.

In the past few days I also have redness and flaky skin in both lower eyelids, near the lashes. It's painful and itchy.

I don't use makeup regularly, rinse my face with cold water and apply The Ordinary HA moisturizer. I don't have other symptoms of dehydration and I drink 3-4L of water a day.

Painful white bumps in nose (nsfw photo attached)

I have recurring sinus infections with brain fog and vision changes. I've gone to the doctor multiple times and they recommend just doing neti pots and steroid sprays but this keeps coming back. I had a CT scan at the hospital but they said it didn't warrant a referral to an ENT.

When I have a flare-up I get these white bumps full of pus in both nostrils. They're very painful but I can lance them and they go away after a bit. Are they indicative of anything?

Baratza Encore grind becomes fine without adjustment

I've had a Baratza Encore for about 6 months. I foolishly tried to grind too much coffee at one time and backed it up.

I've taken the grinder apart and cleaned the clog, but now when I try to grind on a 30-40 setting the grind starts out coarse and becomes very fine quickly. I don't have any leftover parts but I'm assuming I put something together wrong?

Shims for Bauer boots

I'm looking to mount a set of Bauer boots to quad plates, but they need a heel riser. What do y'all normally use for the heel? Considering jigsawing a white plastic cutting board.

Neurological FIP prognosis

I posted previously - our cat presented with dry FIP initially and was treated with 15mg/kg oral GS-441524. He was in acute liver failure but he showed a marked improvement over a week of treatment.

After a week he relapsed with high fever (40.2) and ataxia. We had noted weakness in his back legs but we didn't connect the dots that it could be neurological involvement until he had fully lost use of his legs. He had lost a lot of weight and we assumed it was weakness from muscle loss.

We're now at day 9 of treatment and his vet finally agreed to up the dose to a neuro dose (20mg/kg). He's eating well and his bloodwork is trending in a good direction but he is unable to support himself at all, he's basically floppy.

Does anyone know the prognosis for neuro FIP which has progressed this far? I want to bring him home and try aggressively treating him with oral GS but I'm worried his quality of life will be bad and he won't recover use of his legs. I've also read that neuro FIP can also relapse for years and basically never recover.

Side Effects - expected during treatment?

My cat is about 2 years old and went to the emergency vet a week ago for acute liver failure. He had been losing weight and acting lethargic but our vet didn't believe it was FIP because it "wasn't bad enough".

He's been on oral GS for 7 days now, twice a day. We fast him for 2 hours before and after. He is eating well but he has a fever, vomiting and diarrhea. He seems uncomfortable and is breathing shallowly.

Is this normal FIP recover symptoms? I've phoned the vet and they said a fever and discomfort is expected because he's fighting the infection.

2026 Prius Prime SE - first 5000km

Recently traded in my dearly departed Subaru SUV for a 2026 Prius Prime SE. I got it literally the week the war with Iran started and gas prices went crazy. It's been 3 months and I've put 5000km on the odometer.

Some notes for people considering buying a new Prius:

Adaptive cruise control. The ACC and lane keeping is really nice. I was skeptical that it would make a big difference but on a 5 hour drive it makes life much better.

Visibility and headroom. When I test drove the Prius I noticed the giant A pillars and the low ceiling. Since I've had my car I mucked around with the seating position and I've been able to get in and out comfortably, and visibility doesn't feel like a problem any more. It takes some adjustment. Admittedly I'm 5'8" so your mileage may vary. My passengers have all been fine in the back seat.

Acceleration. Love it. On gas obviously it's not as exciting but merging into traffic on battery there's so much acceleration on tap. When I test drove I was surprised at how pleasant it is to drive. That said the factory wheels do break traction pretty quickly - I've seen the traction control come on several times.

Gas savings. I'm kind of a unique case - I do road trips pretty frequently on the weekends but day-to-day my commute is easily covered by battery. My old SUV got 10L/100km highway. So far I've spent $300 gassing up the Prius, I estimate I've saved $500 compared to my old car. I'm not hypermiling at all.

Charging. Where I live there's lots of cheap public chargers for $1-2/hr. Unfortunately 4 hours to get 50km of range doesn't usually fit my plans for a day trip unless the charger is at my destination. If it was capable of charging as fast as the RAV4 I would be topping up the battery more often on trips.

The paint is very soft. I think the black color with the blue metallic flecks looks awesome in the sunlight, but it immediately picked up a bunch of micro (and macro) scratches. I'm a little stressed long-term but I don't want to spend a lot of money getting a PPF done. Other colors might hold up better.

It sits super low. I'm considering getting a lift kit, no joke. I've scraped the front bumper multiple times pulling into my driveway because of a small curb. In the winter it's going to be an interesting experience.

The app. Super useful when it works. Getting a notification 8 hours late that the doors didn't lock is not useful. In general I find the fob and door handle are less responsive than my old car so I do sometimes find the doors didn't lock when I expected them to.

Overall I'm glad I opted for a plug-in hybrid. I probably could have gone full-electric given my driving habits but I like the flexibility.
