hi! I’m relatively new to riding and I have found that in every lesson I’ve had where I’m trotting, sometimes I get this nerve spasm that starts in the balls of the feet and goes through the side of the calf when I press on the feet to stand up in the stirrup.

Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? It only lasts a second or two but it hurts enough to throw me off and it can happen a few times a session or many times.

I’m wearing Yves Salomon orthopedic trainers which have plenty of padding so I feel like it’s not a footwear issue.
