I love Owlbear. Im slowly building up a vtt worthy of daggerheart!

Me and my brother has been writing extensions for owlbear to make an awesome vtt for our game nights. Great API to work with :D One is displaying a diablo like inventory that just renders image urls from wherever you we copy pastes them from, and you can also create a circle token from the central character renderer. And the other is just png renders for all card from the pdf. Theyre super unoptimized but they are definetly working for our eed :)

PS. everything is local so we have not uploaded anything of darrington press' art of course.

Edit1. Did not expect people to like it so much. Of course you who liked it shall have it! Ill post a link to the extension soon. You can install an extension to an existing room, its suuper easy, barely an inconvenience ;). Just click the three dots on the lower left corner of the owlbear ui, then find the plus button and add new extension and copy paste the link which is coming in a bit.

edit2. Here are the links and how the card import thing works: the extension doesnt come with any cards at all (copyright and all that,). You feed it a folder of images from your own computer and it builds the menus from how that folder looks. Everything stays in your browser, nothing gets uploaded anywhere. Which also means every player imports their own copy once, takes like ten seconds. We made our images from the free official card pdf, but honestly any images work.

It eats jpg, png, webp, gif, svg and avif. Anything else in the folder just gets skipped.

The folder structure IS the menu. First level of folders become the big sections, second level becomes the colored rows:

MyCards/
----Domains/
-------Arcana/
---------L01 Rune Ward.webp
----Ancestries/
-------Goblin.webp

If you name a folder after one of the daggerheart domains or classes it gets its proper color automatically (arcana purple, blade red and so on). Any other name gets a random color that at least stays the same every time.

Naming the files: whatever the file is called becomes the card name. Start it with L01, L02 etc and you get a little level badge plus sorting by level. A plain number like "1 Foundation.webp" just sorts them, no badge. No number at all is fine too, then its alphabetical.

Re-importing a file with the same name replaces the old one, so updating a card is just dragging it in again. "Add folder" merges more stuff in next to what you already have (homebrew sections work great, make "Items/Weapons/Flame sword.webp" and boom, you have an items menu) and Clear nukes the whole library.

Thats basically it. Drop folder, get menus. Suuper easy, barely an inconvenience ;) let me know how you use them if you do :D

Making a daggerheart vtt (sort of) for my friends in unreal engine.

Ive spent the start of the swedish summer making a daggerheart vtt (isch) (and also for mordheim games :P ) for my friends to play in since they refuse to buy talespire! Like every other Unreal dev i had some synty assets laying around that fit perfectly. I know the card art is strictly copyrighted but im just developing this for my friend groups sessions so its okay :) It does not look good for now but its going forward quickly and hopefully my designer friend can spice the UI up a bit XD

All in all a really fun summer project,.
