Where the heck is the news about the Muppet Show reboot?

So the Sabrina Carpenter special earned rave reviews, 7.58 million TV / streaming views in 8 days, it's been said Josh D'Amaro is a fan of the brand, iirc there's been a renewed merchandising push this year...

And then nothing. I think the biggest things in the time since are the Seth MacFarlane album and the Rock N Roller Coaster opening.

Why has it taken so long for an update to happen? Did they not have a pitch for a full series ready to go?

Anyone looked into the possibility of a 3D-printed Playmates compatible Thunder Sled?

So afaik all previous transforming versions of Dairen-Oh / Thunder Megazord come with a tray that can carry the 5 main Zords on it, which is also referenced in the show.

However this is currently absent from the Playmates line (unless it's included with a hypothetical Tor Kickstarter?). So I'm wondering, could a 3D printable version work? Would it be stable enough to carry the weight of those Zords? Is it going to fit in the average printer space? If not can it be broken up?

Voltron back catalogue signed to distribution deal with CAKE Entertainment

To coincide with the movie's release next year, WEP has licenced 280 episodes to be distributed to TV channels and streamers by CAKE.

So this includes:

124 Defender Of The Universe episodes (72 Lion Force and 52 Vehicle Force)

26 The Third Dimension episodes

26 Voltron Force episodes

52 Golion episodes

52 Dairugger XV episodes

I note with interest the lack of mention of Fleet Of Doom (obviously not a regular episode so it wouldn't be counted among them, but still odd to leave out?), Legendary Defender (makes sense seeing as that seems to be owned by Universal), the inclusion of Golion and Dairugger XV, and lack of related series that aren't Voltron things (Albegas, Saber Rider, Bismarck).

Also I wonder if this deal could cover a new Voltron show to follow the release of the movie?

I imagine pretty much everyone is disappointed at the state of the Re-Ignition show right? Just an almost unchanged 32-year-old show that speaks to a certain nostalgic generation rather than today's kids, but with new shorts that tell us things we already know and allegedly remastering the show into high definition.

However, I don't think the idea of reintroducing older shows to a new generation by repackaging it is a bad thing at all. But it has to be in the right context. So here's my pitch: copy Ultraman's clip shows.

For those who don't know, Ultraman runs a bit differently than your normal Tokusatsu production these days. Unlike a Toei show that runs a new episode almost every week for a whole year with only a couple of interruptions (sport, holidays etc.), Ultraman only has 25 new episodes per year. However they still need to keep a timeslot on Japanese TV (I hear it's a lot harder to get a timeslot there?), so they need to air *something*. If you're short on money to make a new show and need to fill in time... A clip show is an obvious answer.

Ultraman Retsuden, Ultraman Chronicle, Ultraman New Generation Stars, whatever you call it, airs in the first half of the year. Every episode features mostly previously made material, either a full episode, a themed compilation of clips, or a portion of a movie / special. That's not to say it's all reused content though, there's usually a couple of minutes of new scenes where some characters, mostly a couple of existing characters being reprised by their actors, give context for why we're seeing the scenes we're seeing (for example, the current season of New Generation Stars has seen Ultraman Z travelling the Ultra multiverse following the Meteokaiju, Gamedon, as he's shown Gamedon's collected memories across space and time, as well as meeting the Ultras featured in those memories).

It's less relevant now since the last few seasons have been more standalone, but these Chronicle shows can also reintroduce certain plot points to new viewers. Ultraman Chronicle Z: Heroes' Odyssey showcased several episodes of Ultraman Tiga and the movie Ultraman Tiga: The Final Odyssey, ahead of Ultraman Trigger acting as a sort of parallel universe of those works.

I don't think anyone would disagree that Power Rangers is a franchise built on reusing assets, so a full-on clip show sounds very much like something they'd do. So I'll ask you to imagine: in addition to the Disney+ thing, there's a side project on YouTube, which is mostly focused on a curated selection of existing Power Rangers episodes, with a few new scenes sprinkled in telling us why some Legendary Rangers are talking about things that happened years ago. Maybe they saw a kid who needs to learn a lesson they learnt before, maybe there's an academy training new Ranger rookies, whatever, as long as it gives some context. Promoted by this show is a range of new kids toys, a seemingly random assortment of figures, Zords, Morphers etc from across the franchise, but all featured in the recap show. Each toy has a QR code on the packaging linking to an episode featuring whichever thing inspired the toy. And say if the Disney+ production decides for some reason they want to focus a story on, for example, Poisandra, then the recap show could have an episode condensing her storyline to catch up newcomers.

I'm sure this is far from perfect but it's gotta be better than what we have right
