Can my friend legally leave her family and start a new life in India?

I'm posting this on behalf of a friend because she's scared and doesn't know what to do.

She lives in Odisha, India, in a very toxic and abusive household. She's an adult (born in 2005), but her family somehow changed her date of birth to 2007 on some of her documents. She's worried this might cause legal issues if she leaves home...She wasn't allowed to have a normal life growing up. Her mother rarely let her go outside, she barely attended school or college in person, and she has almost no friends or support system because of how isolated she's been...Her family wants to marry her off as soon as possible, but she doesn't want to get married. She has also experienced physical abuse and emotional abuse at home. I don't want to go into the details because it's painful to even write about...She's currently pursuing her degree (3+ year) and has an online job that allows her to earn her own money. She also has a safe place to stay in another city if she's able to leave. Her goal is simply to move out, live independently, and cut contact with her family.

The problem is that her family won't let her leave. She's afraid they'll try to stop her, file a missing person complaint, or involve the police. She doesn't want to get anyone into trouble...she just wants to live her own life in peace...If she's legally an adult, what are her rights in India? Can she leave home without her family's permission? What should she do if her family tries to force her back or force her into marriage? And how can she handle the birth date discrepancy if her actual birth year is 2005 but some documents say 2007?

Any legal advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you...

What beauty products are 100% worth the money??

My 21st birthday is coming up, and I'm so excited! 🥹🎉 I want to treat myself, but I don't want to waste my money on products that are overhyped...I'm thinking of buying skincare, body care, makeup, or maybe a really good perfume. So please tell me what's one product you'd buy again without thinking twice, no matter the price??

A Simple Ice Gola That Brought My Dad Back for a Moment

Ice gola has always been one of my favorite childhood memories.....Every summer, my dad and I would go out together, and he would buy one for both of us. We'd stand there, talking, laughing, and enjoying our ice golas. The funny part was that he enjoyed it like a little kid. Those are some of the happiest memories I have...and few years ago, he passed away. Since then...I stopped doing some of the things we used to enjoy together because they reminded me of him too much. Sometimes I find myself wishing I could have just one more ice gola with him....few days ago, I was talking about those memories with someone. Summer is almost over here, and there isn't even an ice gola stall near my house anymore....but today, out of nowhere, a man showed up right in front of my house selling ice gola....I bought two....I'm eating one as I write this, and for some reason, it feels like my dad is still looking over me. Whenever I miss him or talk about him, I somehow feel he's still there. After all, he'll always be my dad....maybe it's just a coincidence. Maybe it isn't. But moments like this remind me that love doesn't really disappear....If there's something that brings you happiness or reminds you of someone you love, don't stop yourself from doing it. Somewhere, in whatever way you believe, I like to think they're still hoping to see you smile....

You're never truly alone..

Why do people date someone new instead of pursuing the person they really want?

So, I was in a relationship with someone who was actually in love with someone else without fully realizing it. This happened to me about a year ago.

After being single for a while and recovering from a toxic relationship, I met a guy. At first, I ghosted him because I wasn't ready to be with anyone. I had just come out of something really difficult and needed time for myself. Even after I stopped talking to him for almost six months, he didn't give up, which made me think he genuinely liked me.

Eventually, I gave him a chance...On our first date, he did everything right. He planned a really cute date, brought me my favorite flowers, and overall it was a great experience. For some reason, he seemed surprised that I actually showed up, but we had a wonderful time and eventually got into a relationship.

Our relationship was very public. Everyone knew about us, we posted each other online, and he had access to all of my social media accounts because he had trust issues. I was okay with that because I had nothing to hide. I even cut off my male friends because it made him uncomfortable.

Everything seemed fine at first, but over time I started noticing things that felt off. He gave me love letters a few times, but I later found out he had gotten help writing them from a girl he kind of liked. Somehow, I had this feeling that he loved her without realizing it himself. Whenever I brought it up, he made me feel like I was overthinking.

Turns out, I wasn't.

A few days ago, he texted me again. We started talking, and I quickly realized the reason he reached out was because that girl had stopped talking to him. He told me he had made some mistakes and she no longer wanted to speak with him.

During that conversation, I finally understood something: he never truly loved me the way I loved him. I think I was a replacement while he was trying to get over someone else. The moment he realized she was the person he really wanted, I stopped mattering.

That relationship taught me a lot, but I still wonder

Why do some people choose to move on with someone else instead of putting that same effort into being with the person they actually want? Why look for a replacement instead of facing their real feelings?
