Light Kit

Good morning fellow Bafang riders!

I was wondering if a kit like this would be compatible and an easy install on my bafang bbs02b. I have to double check my connectors but I was throwing this out here to see if anyone has purchased this before or something similar and installed it on their bike. Thanks everyone!

My first real world experience with a Bafang BBS-02b

So I took it out for a test drive an hour ago just to make sure installation was good and everything worked. I slide the battery onto my downtube battery plate, turned the battery on, but did not turn on the screen.

Why? Well I wanted to see what difference the weight of the battery and motor made on the overall feel of the bike. Imho, I think I barely noticed a difference. I mean I'm sure it's there but without getting super granular, I don't feel a major difference in how pedaling my bike feels.

It felt responsive and quick - torque-y. So far, I think it's awesome and im already thinking about many ridess I want to go on. I do have a question though- how many batteries/or how many ah's do you guys typically carry and how far do you go? I have a 48v20ah and wondering if it will be enough, but then I think if I were to get another battery than my bike may end up being and heavy as a typical ebike lol.....

Any unrelated recommendations/advice for a first time mid driver rider is welcome as well. FYI I do have the brake, shift and speed sensors installed.

Bafang BBS02B

Hey everyone, this is my first post in this group and my first time installing a mid drive motor. Most everything came out good and as expected. However, when it came to installing the motor, it came out kind of slanted. It appears my bottom downtube (if that's what its called) protrudes a little preventing the motor from rotating all the way until the logo is straight. Photos for reference. I am converting the Ozark Explorer, straight bar variant.

Will this be an issue? Also, how is my clearance? It looks kinda low. Thank you guys for all your advice!

BBS02b

Greetings fellow bike riders(cyclists and ebikers) and DIY enthusiasts.

I recently purchased a Bafang mid-drive motor with the legal limit of 750W and I am excited for its arrival. It will be my first mid-drive and I plan on installing it on my ozark explorer.

My question would be, what tools should I have ready for installation? I already bought a crank puller, bb puller, and I have several tools at my disposal. I'm wondering what you guys and gals consider is needed for the installation.

Also, what should I know about mid drives that most people don't know? I've watched several YouTube videos but I would like to hear recent experiences with the 750W Bafang BBS02b! Especially from those who installed a BB drive on an Ozark Explorer!

Edit: I'm curious about riding it in the rain and what kind of extra possible steps taken to be able to enjoy riding in the rain!
