Fall Transitional scents - what’s everyone wearing?

What’s everyone wearing? So far I haven’t cared for any of the releases that are fall based so it’s looking like I’m going from tropical to vanilla the moment the air gets a chill 😅 but I’m curious what everyone else is planning to wear!!

Eyeliner help

So I bought the Urban Decay 24/7 Liquid Stick Retractable Waterproof Gel Eyeliner because I work in a hot kitchen and need something with staying power. However I’m starting to notice my eyeliner transferring to right above my crease hours after I put it on because that’s where my eye touches since my eyelid likes to vanish.

Not sure if that makes sense but I’m hoping other people with hooded eyes will understand. I use an eye shadow primer and I set my make up. Plus it’s supposed to be waterproof.

Does anyone have any suggestions on something that will help this not happen?

I don’t use a ton of eyeliners and other ones I’ve used haven’t necessarily done that but they under perform in other ways but this is a new issue I didn’t expect to experience.

Thoughts on Vanilla Mousse and Bare Vanilla Whipped

So I love vanilla in the winter so I have not worn these all day to test the longevity but I did get my package and try them on my skin. I’m just testing the body sprays right now.

Vanilla Mousse is very smoky. I don’t have it anymore to do a direct comparison but my first thought is Vanilla Bean Noel from that other company (can we reference them on here?)
I do like it. I personally want more vanilla from it and would probably layer it with just a plain vanilla lotion. I think this would just be something I wear around the house and when I want to feel cozy but I personally don’t love this smell for work and every day.

Bare Vanilla Whipped is very pretty and soft. I almost feel like this would be a good winter into spring transition smell for me. I got it for cheap so I’ll keep it but with all the million smells VS comes out with it doesn’t feel special or unique but I do really like it and will find ways to wear and enjoy it.

What to expect from fall scents?

Hey there! I’ve seen a few previews for the shimmer scents coming up this fall but I’ll not into the shimmers. I saw a pumpkin vanilla coming out that is intriguing.

This will be my first year into VS beauty during the fall and I’m curious if anyone knows - do they come out in waves or usually all by a certain time? Are the options usually good or overly sweet and sickly? I am hoping to pin down a good smell for this year without smelling like a bag of candy 😅

What I’ve learned about dry down and pairing with lotion

This is random but I thought maybe there are people out there like me who didn’t know better and can benefit and I want to thank all you fine people on here who have commented on multiple things I’ve commented on and helped me learn a few things. I love this board!

Coming back cause it’s long and ranty so the…

TLDR: Always pair the body spray with the lotion and wear them for like an hour or two before you decide you like them or not. Sometimes the lotions smell great by themselves even if you don’t like the body spray and will be what sticks around the longest in my experience.

I don’t live any where near a Victoria Secret and I have really sensitive skin and just sensitive to smells in general. So I used to go into the store, spray a few, take them at face value and run before I got overwhelmed. Never tried lotions. I usually just suck to my OG smell Pure Seduction and never liked new smells I tried.

Then one day I went crazy and ordered a bunch of different smells online with lotions. I figured I’d try them out over time and return the ones I didn’t like and here’s where it got interesting

Even though my skin is sensitive I’ve had minimal reaction to the lotions and even when I do break out a little I just suffer because I smell so damn good 😅 I love pairing the body sprays but the star of it all is really the lotions.

I’ve learned to HAVE to get the lotion because that’s where the staying power comes from. I can still smell it long after the body spray is gone.

There are smells I would have never in a million years worn if I just did my usual routine and there’s smells I’d be stuck with if I took them at face value.

Bare Vanilla Brulee smelled so so bad at first but dried down so beautifully.

Beach Babe made me smell like a 12 year old girl at first but the dry down in my favorite coconut smell from VS yet! I just put it on like an hour before I go out 😅

The whole cabana collection - I HATED IT! But then I never got around to returning them so I’ve been using them and come to find out THEY ARE SO GOOD 😭 I’m sorry to everyone I told they sucked because they totally do for like the first 30 minutes but then they were incredible. Except I hated the dry down on gelato oasis and I thought I’d really like that one.

I’m sure there’s more but I really feel like for years I missed out on awesome collections because I went into the store, smell them and ran. It really does seem worth it to give them an honest try. Full disclosure I suck at returning things so I’m not sure how good their return policy is or how picky they get but I usually just give away the ones I don’t like or try to sell them.

So much conflicting information! Where to start?!

This is a rant but if you don’t want to read it the short of my rant is how long do you experiment with something to see if you see results before if you decide it’s for you or not.

For instance - my tdee is like 2250 but I’m starving all day when I try to eat at 1750 so I’m thinking of trying 2000 and weight training with 8-10k steps. I’m curious how long I should give it before I decide if it works or not since I know it will probably be slow progress.

Now here’s my rant if you feel like reading!

I’m sure you all see the same things I see: if you eat 1500 calories and do cardio you’ll lose weight. Nope, you need to eat 2000 calories and weight train. No it’s calories in calories out and you have to be in a deficit. Oh wait, you are in too much of a deficit and now you have no where to go before you plateau.

Oh and it’s anything is better than nothing when it comes to cardio and weight training. Just kidding if you aren’t doing things correctly you are wasting your time. But what is correct? Depends on the article and influencer!!

I could keep going. Don’t get me started on my low carb tortilla whip lash.

I get at the end of the day everyone is different and things just work for different people but I’m trying a new approach to weight loss in the sense I just want a healthy relationship with food and exercise but I can’t figure out where to start when I get all this conflicting information. And when I do decide where I want to start how long do I give it to see if what I choose works for me.

How to fix this area?

Has anyone had this rod piece break on their Meta Quest 3? I’m wondering how to fix it cause I don’t think I can just buy that piece to replace.

Thank you!

Other foundations similar to Lancôme 95w color match?

Not sure if this is the right place but the Teint Idole 95w is the closest I have ever come to finding a foundation match to my skin tone! So many others turn orange or gray on me but this one is pretty spot on.

I like it, I really do but I’ve seen used it for years and I kind of just want to try something new. I don’t live near a Sephora or Ulta and I know Ulta has that “find the shade” option but I can’t help but feel like I have a weird undertone or something cause it’s so hard to get a good match

I was hoping you fine people on the internet who maybe use this same foundation can let me know other ones you try and have been happy with.

I have a big blank wall. I envision have a rack with spice jars, shelves for recipe books and knick knacks. Cute ways to hang items I need such a lint roller. The problem is I put all the stuff in the cart and it’s not whimsical at all. It just feels mechanical and not at all what I want. I don’t have a ton of money and I feel like if I keep waiting for the perfect pieces I’ll be waiting my whole life.

Not sure if anyone has helpful advice but I’m just not sure how to move forward. Do I get all the boring stuff and hope I can find ways to improve it? I do not have the gift of decorating at all so that doesn’t help. I’ve tried Pinterest for inspiration and there’s plenty but I just can’t replicate that type of art.

Thanks in advance!
