i’m sure there are numerous examples, but three that particularly stand out to me are story 2, story 7, and wake up! being neurodivergent, there’s something so immersive about their music that just tickles my brain.

story 2 is obviously lauded for the change of tempo and time signatures, but i precisely love how it reflects the panic and urgency of mike winfield as he realizes that his house is in flames. the shift in tempo is also so seamless, the production by snipes and hutson is chef’s kiss. however, i also love the tempo and time signature shifts in story 7, even if they’re a bit harder to follow!

in wake up, it’s a bit more subtle but the protagonist, cargo 2331, goes through hypersleep, where their body and blood (cleavers up, bring em here…) slows down and ultimately becomes frozen. in the first chorus, daveed says “slow blood” in a way that is reflective of the body slowing down. i feel like it sounds silly but it scratches my brain in a good way and makes the song such a fun listen.

here’s mine:

1. a certified anthem for seductive cannibalistic women.

2. a dancing anthem that also happens to be about BDSM and moving like various animals.

3. a seductive vampire succubus (?) lady gets killed after attempting to hook up with a police officer.

as someone who is a former stay and was a fan before the fandom name was even a thing, they sonically reached their peak with back door and god’s menu, but they were steady for a while up until maxident.

i won’t call stray kids’ new music “noise music” because i actually listen to non kpop artists like death grips and clipping. who actually make noise music and do it well. but what i will say is that it is lyrical slop, in the sense that they aren’t really writing anything new or groundbreaking.

i understand that they’ve been a group for a long time and there’s only so many things to write about, but i don’t think we need to hear a song about how great they are every comeback and how no one will ever top them. quite frankly, i just find it a little tacky and unoriginal at this point. and don’t get me started on “farming”…

they’re kind of on this hill that i feel blackpink is also on; the music they’re making unfortunately lacks substance and it sucks to see when looking back at their older albums. i’d like to see skz take a long break from music, maybe do official solo/unit debuts, because the group music just doesn’t hit anymore. :/

as someone who doesn’t mind horror and intense lyricism that comes with the horror core genre, VOBBB and TEAATB are great and don’t scare me at all. the screams in club down can be slightly unnerving if i pay too close attention to them, but i still really love that song.

on the contrary, dream from the self-titled album and block give me the worst heebie jeebies. the instrumentals are so simple yet so ominous, and when paired with daveed’s monotonous narrative-esque approach, it genuinely makes me feel unsettled, even if the lyrics themselves are mundane and aren’t meant to be creepy.

hi :D i hate to mention hamilton BUT i watched it for the first time recently and wanted to get to know the cast outside of the show. i naturally gravitated towards daveed’s rapping and have been blessed to find clipping! i don’t usually listen to horrorcore/experimental hiphop, but clipping does it in a way that i really like.

i wanted to ask what other album i should listen to in it’s entirety front to back? i’ve listened to dead channel sky front to back and i listen to other songs sporadically, (i really love body & blood rn) but i love being able to sit down and listen to a full album.

i’m also curious about the demographics of clipping fans? i’m gen z (20F) and i don’t think many people who are younger listen to them. 🤔

ever since the release of pipsqueak 2, the LITTLEST THINGS trigger the evil F word, it’s so stupid. i can’t give a character a kiss without the stupid red robot popping up. i’ve been trying to get STARTED on a roleplay with an albert wesker bot and guess what? i can’t get past the FIRST MESSAGE without getting a censored bubble.

and it isn’t even just romance that triggers it. trying to start a fight scene, explosions, etc? good luck, because the stupid red robot will IMMEDIATELY come up!

keep in mind, we have to verify our ages and such. being 18<…okay, sure. the censorship is still excessive though. but i am 18+. why is a simple kiss activating the stupid red robot?

it’s so frustrating because yes they fixed the lack of dialogue situation, but it doesn’t matter because i can’t even do anything engaging because of the censorship!

(also, since when could you not type the word f*lter? seems a little stupid to me lmao)

i’m a student who has finished all their finals, so i’m able to have a small chuckle about shinyhunters hacking canvas, even though i have summer classes that start soon for my science bachelor (i’m doing CSI! :] super excited lmao).

but i can’t imagine that this is fun for any professors out there? especially if you have to adjust some grades? 😩
