Let’s be honest, no child celebrity made that decision themselves. Their parents realized, by pushing their kid into the entertainment industry at a very young age, they could make money. Something non consensual that has such a profound impact on one’s life doesn’t seem very ethical to me.

I also think that it can warp some kids egos. They start becoming mobbed with attention before they can even make sense of what’s happening. They become so used to attention that they grow up feeling quite removed from the traditional human experience, which can be very alienating.

Along those lines, children can easily become exploited. They don’t necessarily have the experience to set proper boundaries with people. Everyone in the orbit of a famous person usually wants something out of them, and a child not being able to form genuine relationships with people is inhumane.
