Is Selig Life Still Supposed to be 473?

Just got the selig so may be missing stuff, but it says my base life is about 1173 and I don’t think I missed any lurking max life (other than to unavoidable nodes on board 1).

What kind of CC change do you guys have with your WW?

I'm at like T9 and my crit chance is looooow. I've tempered / used gear with CC affixes, but really struggling to get it above even like 40%.

Now I don't have like heir of perdition or starless skies which I assume made a huge difference last season, but didn't those auto buffs get nerfed or removed?

Does anyone actually use a non-AUM fee advisor?

I look for this all the time and find lots of questions, but very few "yeah I use this person and they're great."

Basically is there a solid CFA that you can pay $X to and have them come up with a detailed plan?

I used Boldin and can't complain but it was more of a solid check of what I put in rather than a detailed plan or advice.

How do you all balance a SORR ladder / hurting equity returns?

I'm in an odd situation where if I'm retired or fired I will receive about 15% of to-be LNW.

That would be like 5-7 years living expenses.

I guess I would have a a couple of options here: (i) create some kind of bond or CD ladder (ii) keep only say 2-3 years in cash and invest the rest.

Is there any kind of conventional wisdom here as to the "best" way to balance this, or is it basically up to your risk tolerance?

Is JB off the table?

We were at over 50% in those prediction markets and there was tons of buzz, but all that is a couple of days old.

Have developments since then made that less likely?

Fine either way, but I can’t find an actual story on whether the rumors were just bullshit or things changed.

Do you aim for gem str transfig in weapons with ball lightning?

Reaching the end of the season and after hitting about 250 paragon, I've not gotten any useable gem transfigs.

I'd sort of like to get one, but my current charac is that ball lightning build on maxroll, which uses the mythic as it's standard (rather than push).

If I rolled gem strength on a dagger would it generally be better than the corresponding mythic? (I think it's El'Druin.)

For those hunting gem strength rolls, do you just mass transfig or craft the base weapon first?

Basically the title, if I only rely on weapons that I bother upgrading, I'll probably never get one, but on the other hand if I just transfig everything I'll miss out on other stuff if one ever hits.

Is there like a standard practice that strikes a balance? I'd like to get one before the season ends just to see it.

Guardails Strategy (Boldin)

I use this Boldin software for messing around with retirement planning. The program has a "guardrails" feature where it tells you your safe spend.

When I asked its little AI feature how the guardrails were calculated, it came back with what I've copied below.

Is this consistent with the conventional wisdom on spending with this strategy?

Here is the copied language from Boldin:

"Unlike a simple fixed percentage (like the 4% rule), Boldin’s guardrails use a dynamic, probability-based formula powered by Monte Carlo simulations.

Instead of looking at historical averages, the system runs 1,000 market trials to find the specific dollar amount you can spend while maintaining a target Chance of Success (CoS). Here is the breakdown of the "formula" logic:

1. The Three Confidence Zones

The system solves for the monthly spending amount (in today's dollars) that hits these specific confidence thresholds:

  • Safe Spending Target (80% CoS): The baseline. It calculates the maximum you can spend while having confidence that your money lasts in 800 out of 1,000 scenarios.
  • Upper Guardrail (95% CoS): The "underspending" signal. If your current savings grow so much that your success rate hits 95%, you can safely increase spending.
  • Lower Guardrail (70% CoS): The "early warning." If market drops push your success rate below 70%, the formula suggests a temporary reduction to get back to the safe zone.

2. What’s Included in the "Spending" Number?

The formula is holistic. It doesn't just look at your portfolio; it factors in:

  • All Income: Social Security, pensions, and annuities.
  • All Expenses: Your itemized budget, plus "unseen" costs like estimated taxes, Medicare premiums, and debt payments.
  • Lifetime Averaging: One-time lumpy expenses (like a future car purchase) are averaged into the monthly target so your "safe spend" is a consistent lifestyle number.

3. The "Thermostat" Logic

The formula treats your plan like a thermostat rather than a thermometer. It doesn't react to daily market swings. It only triggers a recommendation to change your lifestyle when your savings balance crosses a threshold that meaningfully shifts your probability of success outside that 70%–95% range.

Would you like to see how your current planned spending compares to these calculated targets?"

Is Apoc / Double Blast glitched or changed?

I've got an apoc warlock build and I was doing well but haven't played in a few days.

I booted it up just now and for whatever reason I almost never proc the double blast. Previously every apoc was double blast because of Ritualist / Scorching Fragment.

Assuming it's not a glitch or a patch, is there any common screw up that you can do to mess up the double blast?

When do you spend cash reserves / bond ladder in retirement?

These are just made up numbers but say you had $5M in stocks and $1M in CDs / HYSA (or a similar 5-year bond ladder).

Assuming the $1M represents 5 - 7 years of living expenses and you retired today, would you just live off of the cash for that time regardless of whether the market is at an all time high?

Similarly with the bond ladder, I assume if you have a 5-year ladder, you spend the bond redemptions regardless of the market?

Which is better for Apoc Warlock?

For reference the increased CC would put me from 94% to 100%.

I just started the build so I’m currently using grandfather but can also swap.

Is gem strength even a good roll for the selig ring?

It doesn’t matter much now but is it right that gem strength is only BIS for your WW weapon?

Selig Barb Life Question

So I noticed in town my life is 473 (which I read is the lowest), but in dungeons it jumps up to 931.

Is this supposed to happen or do I have some rando trait going on?
