New Rule: Posting Limits

Dear all,

The supply of Classic Trance music is not infinite, and the same goes for our time available to digest and appreciate the music & discussions posted here.

I think I do not speak only for myself when I say that occasionally I do not have time to catch up on everything that is posted here, and I’m sure I’ve missed a gem of a track simply due to the sheer volume of tracks posted.

We all love the stuff posted here, but let’s not overdo it! Savor the good stuff posted, engage in conversations a bit longer!

With immediate effect we introduce the “Posting Limits” Rule:
-> Any individual user may post no more than three (3) posts (of any kind) within the same 24-hour period

Thank you,

The Moderator Team

Please welcome our newest moderator!

Dear r/Classictrance community!

The search for a new moderator has come to an end, and we are very, very happy to welcome the newest member of our moderator team!

He is a Mix Competition-winner, an expert on Classic Trance with (in my own personal view) impeccable taste in music!

u/Cosmocrator

Please join me in welcoming him to the team!

I will let him introduce himself:

>
Hello boys and girls!
Some of you may already know me from my posts and comments over the years. I've been part of this community for some years now, and it's been my favourite place on reddit ever since.

It's a great honour to have been invited to join the moderator team, and I hope I can contribute in bringing the sub forward. First of all, I'm looking forward to helping keep this subreddit friendly, welcoming, and focused on great music. Secondly, the existing mods can use an extra hand. For example, organizing the mix competitions is a daunting task, and I'm positive I can contribute even if it's just doing menial tasks. But I believe we're moving forward here as well. Lastly, there's the state of the subreddit itself. Together with the rest of the mods we will try to improve engagement. It's way too early to discuss this here, but maybe my arrival in the mod team makes some older ideas they had now more feasible. And maybe I can contribute with some fresh ideas. Who knows?

If you want to know a little more about me: I'm from the Netherlands, year of construction 1979. Wife, no kids. I'm a software tester in daily life.
My musical journey can be chronologically summarized as follows: [Dutch top charts](https://www.mixcloud.com/In_Alle_Toonaarden/playlists/90s-dutch-top-40-birth-of-a-raver/) (around 1991), eurodance, eurorave, rave, hardcore (gabber), German/hard trance (around 1998), followed by the rest of classic trance. As you can see, I'm quite late in my discovery of trance, preferring the harder sounds before that. I was already a bit fed up with the low quality productions that we prevalent in underground gabber (I had little appreciation for mainstream gabber), when I was coming home after school, went upstairs and heard my brother hear some music with a great sound. It turned out he had bought D.Trance 8 that day. I believe the track that was playing was [Pascal Device - I Had A Dream](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MKM1pfHwO2o). I've been hooked ever since, buying D.Trance and Trancemaster albums together with my brother. Gabber quickly dissolved into the background, and I discovered the rest of trance quickly after.

That's enough about me for now, but don't hesitate to ask away. I'm looking forward to grow as a community with the rest of you. Thanks for having me!
