New v3 bracelet on the T028.
Endlinks seem to hinge a little too much causing a very small gap. Due to my small wrist.
But very comfortable too. Happy to have this T028 finally on a metal bracelet. I am sure Thorn will make a upgraded T028 bracelet since it only requires a a swap of similar sized end links.

First impression here of the new Thorn T023. I have to say that the charm of this watch is absolutely awesome. It has that instant vintage feel on the wrist. With the silver white dial. It is just off white, almost silverish. Pretty matte under normal lightning however it plays beautifully with the sunlight.
The bracelet is a huge upgrade. I do have the older T028 bracelet which is very similar to the T023 previous versions I believe.
I was able to size this bracelet within minutes. I wears very comfortable, no rattles. It has polished rivets and brushed links. Gives a nice contrast.
Bezel action very nice. Clickish, no play. good allignment.
What not to like? probably the too shiny bezel edge. It looks a little bit too clean for a vintage styled watch. I'll dull this down in the near future for a less shiny appearence.
I have a very small wrist around 15 to 15.5cm. I was a little bit hesitant for the size. It does wear a little smaller due to the way the end links are positioned and overall pretty flat case. So I am very happy with that. Also the bracelet is sizeable to a small wrist like mine. I even have 3 micro adjustments left. So don't worry if you have a smaller wrist. It'll fit.
I will post my complete findings with more pictures on different straps soon. But for now it is my favourite diver. It just has something unique and special.

I am surprised that Baltany has not brought the Grey dial to the fluted bezel DJ36 yet. This would be my top pick for the datejust line up.

I love many chinese watch brands like Baltany, San Martin, Thorn, Sugess and Hruodland. The quality is amazing and prices were really good.
I noticed that the prices have increased very significantly in the EU last 6 months. I used to be able to buy a Baltany Nh35 watch for around 180 eur. Now they seem to be over 300 eur.
what is the reason for this significant price hike? As far as I know there are no additional tarrifs in place in the EU for chinese goods.

I am looking for an upgrade from my oneplus 12. The phone is just over 2 years old now and looking for an upgrade. I missed the Oppo find X9 ultra introudction deals which were pretty good. Now no really good deals are available.
my Oneplus 12 is still okay, but battery life and speed has significantly reduced over the years due to intensive use.
I feel like the X9 ultra camera bump is a little bit too much for my liking. I don't want a much bigger or heavier phone than I have now. So leaning towards the X9 Pro.
The first leaks of the X10 have now come through and it looks like the X10 non ultra phone will pack most of the X9 ultra features. So debating if I shall wait for the introduction if this phone and then decide for the X10 or X9 pro at a discount.
What are your thoughts? anyone who has upgraded from OP12 and willing to share some insights?

I have 4 thorn watches. My T004 with PT5000 movement developed problems and I contacted thorn about a solution. They were very friendly and helpful and offered either a local watch repair within reasonable costs or shipping back to China for repair.
has anyone ever shipped a watch back to Thorn? How long did it take in total and any problems? And shipping costs?
I ordered a couple of watches during the aliexpress summer sale. This was one of them and surprised me for only the 80 eur it costs. 'Guilberlin' manual wind watch. It is a Merkur fantasy sub brand.
It came on a nice leather strap, but it was too long for my liking for my 6 inch wrist. But the merkur and sub brands straps are the best leather straps you'll get on an aliexpress watch.
The ST17 movement feels alright. Not very accurate, non hacking. Just a simple movement but it works.
The dial is amazing. Great salmon colour. And blue heated hands compliment the depth of the dial.
Nothing flashy or fancy. But this is a really fun summer watch to combine with fun NATO. I'll have fun with this watch coming months.
It is also a nice formal watch on a suede grey strap.
This is a keeper and hidden aliexpress gem!
Received the Escapement Time PT5000 Flieger B last week after a reviewer here on reddit posted a video about recent upgrades to this watch.

I can only confirm his findings. This is an awesome watch and I am blown away.

It is replacing my Junkers Automatic (miyota) Flieger A. This escapement time is quite a bit better. Very nice crystal and good anti reflective coating. Case finishing is very nice and dimensions perfect at 40mm with angled lugs. Even at my tiny wrist it wears nicely (6 inch)

The leather strap that it comes on is nice, but way too long for me. I decided to put it on the Junkers black strap and I ordered a custom Flieger strap from Vietnam.

Just wanted to share with you my new addition to the collection. The Thorn T028 with black dial. It comes with all 3 bezel options. Red is pre installed and the black and grey/greenish bezels are included in the box.
It comes on a metal bracelet. Enough is said about this. The conclusion for me is that the bracelet is period correct. And the straps were really poor in the 1950s/1960s so draw your conclusions. It has hollow endlinks and it all feels a little flimsy. But as said, it is period correct so a true hommage. I don't really wear watches that much on metal bracelets, so not a big deal for me. This diver will live on NATO and leather straps.
The Thorn T028 is such a unique and refreshing piece in the affordable chinese watch market. It really breathes vintages vibes. I was blown away when I unboxed it and it was much better than anticipated. I doubted between the black and tropical dial, but I was very happy I went with the black dial. It has a great depth to it and the faux patina has just the right colour.
The PT5000 feels smooth and runs exceptionally well. Very well regulated by Thorn. +1s/day and 0,1ms beat error.
For 160 EUR, even with the disappointing metal bracelet, this is an absolute steal. A must have for your watch collection if you want a unique diver piece on your wrist. Pair it with a bright and colorfull NATO strap and you will have that perfect summer look.
