Really happy with this purchase.

Really happy with this purchase.

Took advantage of the Subaru promos & picked up this 2026 Outback Wilderness. I was more partial to the blue color but since it’s the wife’s new ride she likes a more neutral color. I do like the raised white letters on the tires though. Have it like that on my Tacoma.

TRD pro wheels are sharp!!

TRD Pro wheels are just as sharp as any aftermarket wheels. Love this truck. Just need to get the OTT tune.

Vision question

My son had plans of going AST but failed the eye screening for aviation. He was taken off the AST A school list. Unfortunately his uncorrected vision didn’t meet the standard. He recently went to go get screened for PRK but was told he is too young (19). His prescription hasn’t stabilized enough but he should wait 2 yrs before trying again. Before the eye screening he requested to get on the A school list for ME which he did successfully. I was talking to him last night & he was talking about maybe at some point becoming a coast guard diver. Is the same vision restriction applied to the diving rate? He’s only 19 & he still wants to get the PRK surgery once he qualifies. He said he still wants to make the push to become an AST. That was his dream rate after all. He’s young enough. I feel for him but he has kept a good attitude even with this minor setback.

Service intervals

Just completed my 600 mile break in service on my F900 GSA. What intervals for service are you all doing? Every 3k, 5k or 6k miles? Thanks!

Best of both worlds

I couldn’t bring myself to get rid of my sportster after buying my 2025 BMW F900 GSA a week ago. That sporty has been good to me (80,000 commuting miles). It’s as dependable as they come. I will continue to hit some Saturday morning runs for coffee on it.

Went with a BMW instead.

Last week I posted about having an interest purchasing a 2026 HD Pan America after commuting on a sportster for 20 years. After looking around on facebook marketplace I came across this used like new 2025 BMW F900 GSA (162 miles with full luggage) & still under warranty. The bike was being sold by a certified BMW Motorrad dealership. Test drove it yesterday & as they say the rest is history. I brought it home with me. I had too many mixed feelings about the Pan America given its early history with issues. I’m sure most issues are probably worked out by now. Either way I’m extremely happy with my purchase. It’s going to be a great work commuter in addition to a great all around bike.

2026 HD Pan America (yes or no)

I'm in the market for a new bike and the 2026 HD Pan American Special has my interest. I commute daily year around for work about 40 - 45 miles round trip. Most of that is highway miles (express lanes.) I've been doing that commute since 2008 on my 2009 HD sportster iron 883. I bought it brand new and have turned into more of a bobber. I'm nearing 80,000 miles on it. Its one of the most dependable bikes I've ever owned and I will probably keep it but overall its not a fun commuter bike in the rain (no front fender lol) and I have to gas up at least 3 times a week. In addition I can feel every bump on the road. I turn 50 this December and was looking to gift myself something nice. Long story short I've been reading about all the issues with the early models of the Pan America. How dependable are the 2026 models? Are they experiencing any significant electrical issues? Any info is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
