My partner and I are here only for a short time for work, but we noticed something very eerie.

On evenings, especially weekends, it is quiet. Like not a sound can be heard. We go for walks every night just to walk and we’re always commenting on how no one has friends over, no outside BBQ’s with family/friends, just nothing. Like a ghost town.

This is in Bern. Is this normal??? What do people do? Where do they go? We see a lot of lights on in the house but when do you socialize then? Is it not normal for backyards to be hangout spots? This was all last summer also…

My lashes are naturally light brown but turn blonde in the sun and I’m looking sick without a little color somewhere.

I hate mascara, I’m constantly touching my eyes.

What have you guys used that are safer alternatives? My eyes already burn BAD with RefectoCil, to the point we would leave it on for only 7 minutes. I’m afraid to even try it now.

How much frozen food to start? My partner can make things like big pot bolognese etc so am hoping he can just make 2 things in a day one day a week and we freeze for the week. Breakfast boiled eggs and fruit is fine, fast things. Take out once in while etc.

And what else is truly necessary? I don’t need someone to dust furniture or mop the floors since baby won’t be crawling anyway, dishes we have a dishwasher but maybe even paper plates and utensils will be fine for a couple weeks, laundry just a door down in the hallway and it’s always empty, shower basin is easy to pass with some bleach and sponge, who cares about tiles..wondering what is truly important and if I will really need the help or not from outsiders.

Both our moms are less than ideal, one physically not in good shape and does NOT stop talking,the other is a full on narcissist who can’t be at home for more than a few hours without being bored and when helping needs distinct directions/not intuitive with these things, so I’m trying to avoid either.

I’m wondering what is really important during this time. My brain is mush so it’s hard to think and I’m hoping you guys have some advice. What can’t my partner do that someone else can? He’ll be off for 4+ months and knows how to do stuff around the house

Batmaid has bad reviews, private companies as well… so where does anyone find a decent company?

I’m pregnant and the further I get along the harder it is to keep up with maintenance cleaning. Especially avoiding chemical cleaners.

I see some “Vertbaudet” website popping up when looking but I don’t know what’s legit here, all these websites look sketchy. Zalando is ok but looking for more variety, reviews of most items are pretty bad.
