A Rachel centric fic idea I had with her as a priestess of Hestia (Possibly a Perachel longfic, undecided)
I am wondering about whether to write this fic idea I had.
Inspired by "I Do NOT Want to be a Seer and I Can’t be a Hero!" (By HarryPotterSran)
The idea is as follows:
Rachel sees a lot of visions, mostly of the past, some present and very few actual future visions (those are very rare). She realises she is a seer, but she doesn't want a seer's fate. Her relationship with her father is nonexistent. She longs for a real home and family. She watches a vision of a priestess of Hestia being protected from being chased by some god (for maximum effect the vision before this should be Medusa's story Roman version).
So doing the kind of leap of logic that only children can do, she decides she is going to be a priestess of Hestia. She knows she can't escape godly notice, so she chooses (in her mind) the next best thing.
She meets Percy at some school accidentally, becomes best friends. They change schools as many time as Percy gets kicked out until they arrive at Yancy. When shit hits the fan, and Percy is forced to go to camp, Rachel is determined to go with him no matter the personal cost to her (maybe she sees a vision).
She is "claimed" as a priestess of Hestia. Determined to make her Patron proud, she is ready to turn the Camp into a proper home for demigods. She is appalled at the state of Hermes cabin and convinces Hestia to make a "Hestia" cabin for the Unclaimed/Minor god kids. Percy does the same for the "sea related" kids. She will slowly become the camp mom.
For the first three quest, Rachel is left behind because she is a mortal and can't do anything. She tries to interfere with the quest prophecies to protect her friends, maybe the attempt to save Bianca and Zoe goes very wrong. Slowly this coupled with her visions begins to make her so guilty that she volunteers to go to the Labyrinth..
PS: Annabeth and her are gonna be friends. Maybe not immediately but as Annabeth matures more. No character bashing.
What do you guys think of this premise? Is this a bad idea?
