Appetite come back strong after going from vyvanse 30mg to 40mg.. has this happened to anyone else?

*please note - I had a cup of orange juice with osmolax right before I had the tablet this morning - not sure if this impacted meds*

Been on 30mg vyvanse for two weeks, and the first 5-6 days appetite was suppressed a lot, food noise gone and not needing to binge or feeling like I need to go back for more. I’ve been diagnosed with adhd and binge eating disorder - 31 year old female.

I started the 40mg this morning, and when I got home from work today my appetite came back with a vengeance and I’ve had a huge binge to the point of feeling sick. Really scared that something isn’t right in terms of meds and wondering if anyone else has had this happened?

Also my hair is falling out in chunks😭

Thanks!

Tax accountant for healthcare worker in Melbourne

Hi there,

Does anyone have any recommendations for tax accountants who have experience doing tax returns for healthcare workers, particularly those in public health and using salary packaging.

It will be my first time this year going to an accountant, and just want to make sure they understand salary packaging, the deductions I’m eligible for etc.

I have always done it myself, but I also have a HECS debt and for some reason the last 3 years I’ve had to pay back quite a bit.

If anyone has any good tax accountants, please let me know.

Prac placement payment - social work students

Hi there,

I go on my first placement early next year, and just wondering how the prac placement payment through the government works for students of social work who have done their placement this year?

Just trying to get on top of my savings sooner rather than later, as I work 4 days a week already in healthcare and also have a partner who has his own savings and works full time. I’m going to struggle with not working for 3 months and getting quite stressed.

Any information on how the process of applying for this payment went? Is it open to all students or only those who are financially burden by placement? What about us who will need to take leave from work?

Thanks

Vyvanse 30mg 5th day.. appetite coming back?

Hi there,

I’m a 31yo female and I started vyvanse 30mg last Friday, and today is my 5th day on it. I’ve been put on vyvanse for adhd and binge eating disorder, and I found the first few days my appetite disappeared, but yesterday and definitely today I have felt like I could easily binge again.

I’ve been feeling incredibly nauseous, headache, pressure behind eyes and difficulty sleeping, and just haven’t felt the ‘good side effects’ of this medication yet re: focused on task, lessen anxiety, not so scattered etc.

I’m also wondering if this is too low dose? Just seeing if anyone else has had a similar experience? Do these bad sids effects get better? What does it mean by already feeling like appetite is coming back so soon?

any insight would be incredibly helpful!

* forgot to add, I just don’t know when it actually is kicking in and working if that makes sense throughout the day I’ve noticed? *

31yo female and Q’s about 3 appointments for assessment

Hi there, im a 31yo female and having my first 1/3 adhd assessment appointments tomorrow through warm collective clinic here in Melbourne via Telehealth with Dr Hannah.

I’m just wondering, with these 3 appointments what should I expect? I’m stressing a bit as I have no-contact with my family and don’t have any access to school reports, mental health documentation etc and now panicking as I’ve read that collateral from someone who knew you as a younger person is apart of the assessment.

I have a partner of 4 years who I live with, but anybody who I’m super close to I didn’t grow up with (they have only known me for the last 8-10 years).

Will this impact my diagnosis?

Any advice is incredibly appreciated!

No brain signals for bowel movement, at a complete loss… can anyone relate??

I’m 31yo female from Melbourne, Aus, and for the last 2 years I have no been able to have a proper bowel movement by myself without taking osmolax daily, enemas and laxatives (these still take days to work). Anything I eat whether it be a sandwich, to a few bites of an apple, to have a bite of a walnut I’m bloated. Also after any Pilates, walking, running I’m bloated and stomach is very sore. I drink up to 3L of water per day and walk 20k steps per day.

I can go up to 3 weeks without no bowel movement, I’m in constant pain, extreme bloating and discomfort and my mental health has spiralled. I have been told I have adenmyosis but there was no sign of endo (this was done through internal ultrasound).

I will get the feeling of needing to go, but as soon as I sit on the toilet it’s like my brain has no idea what to do… I feel ashamed, embarassed and frustrated. With the osmolax, I have a strong suspicion it’s just created a lazy bowel as when I do go after taking many scoops of it, it’s just liquid.

Sorry for the tmi I just have no idea what to do. GP’s just prescribe laxatives, and tell me I need to up my fibre intake (which in fact makes it worse).

I’m at a loss. Has anyone ever experienced this?
