Randomly decided to start worshipping my pet pig in my survival world simply because I suck at the game.

Might or might not add a bit more to it later. Not really in the mood to do so rn though.

And when I say that I suck at the game, I do mean it. I still remember losing my stuff just because I decided to dig straight down like an idiot smh.

Welp, hopefully Terrence grants me some luck in this survival world!

Is this guy actually a juvenile T. rex as they say it is, or is it a Nanotyrannus? And is it an actual specimen (or at least based off of one)?

I saw this guy at the Hong Kong Science Museum a couple of months ago during a holiday.

The museum says that "Paul" is 85% complete with 240 bones recovered. However, searching for the specimen's catalogue number on Google just led me to nowhere.

On top of this, the overall build of the "T. rex" more closely resembles that of Nanotyrannus, especially with the skull and the tooth count. I did think that it could have been a cast of Jane, but what makes me doubt that is that "Paul's" arms are said to be fairly complete, whilst Jane's weren't fully preserved according to several skeletals that I searched up.

So is "Paul the Tyrannosaurus" actually a Nanotyrannus? And what specimen of Tyrannosaurus / Nanotyrannus is he?

(The museum visit was extremely fun btw! And sorry for the trash photos; I didn't think about it too much when I was at the museum and only began getting confused when I got back home.)

After listening to J's beautiful singing, I realized one thing: she wasn't singing loud enough. I knew what I had to do, and I have no shame.

TRIKE TALK: After rewatching MD for the third time... I'm beginning to notice Uzi's development a little better. And its honestly kinda good. Kinda.

Before I get into this little Trike Talk, I'm just going to say that I've likely gotten a ton of details wrong since I'm pretty bad at analysing media, so don't quote me on any of this.

With that being said, let's first go over Uzi's personality at the start of the series: she's an angsty outcast who constantly lashes out at everyone, does not show any type of empathy to anyone (unless under EXTREME pressure like we saw in Episode 2 where she hugged Khan after being trolled by Eldritch J), is lonely as heck and also wants to fit in and be respected by all of the other worker drones.

Uzi's development begins at Episode 3. She has next to no one to talk to for help, and kind of lashes out at Khan, telling him to stay distant. However, she does say that she is going to talk with N, which is showing her growing care towards a person whom she kind of trusts.

Now, I can hear you typing: 'BUT THIS IS JUST NUZI DEVELOPMENT OMG!!!'. And yes, it kind of is. I am not denying that. But, in my opinion, N and Uzi's relationship kind of ties into both of their development (though I haven't really noticed N's yet).

ANYWAYS, this growing care is further reinforced when Uzi overhears Doll's plan to kill V (and possibly Uzi as well? IDK I'm too lazy to search up her dialogue smh) at the prom. This reinforces Uzi's decision to go to N, the only person who she thinks can help and support her.

Moving onto Episode 4, when she is investigating the abandoned cabin, she gets eventually distracted by the DDs and the other campers just playing outside. This is likely meant to showcase her loneliness and struggles as a social outcast, and I think that one shot of Uzi's reflection on the window as the campers play reinforces that idea.

Furthermore, Uzi's loneliness then increases manifold when V tells her that N has 'made friends with rocks before'. Essentially, this just tells Uzi that N's care for her doesn't really mean to much since he could very well just share the same feelings with... well... a rock. However, Uzi still kind of holds onto that smidge of hope that N could possibly care for her, as later on in the episode (when she turns into her Solver Form), she asks V whether she could talk to N. She kinda loses all of that hope though when she realizes what's she's done and kinda just accepts the fact that N might just leave her eventually. However, when N calms her down and she returns to her normal form, Uzi begins to care for N a little more, seen by her literally attempting to hold N's hand whilst she was asleep in the episode's ending.

Moving onto Episode 5... okay her development does get a little rushed between Episodes 5 and 6, but I'm still going to talk about it. When Uzi is fighting with Doll over the Keybug, she notices that the DD's memories are just about to be deleted. So she had two options: continue to fight for the keybug, which she literally says is 'the only clue to figuring out what's wrong with [her]', or give away the Keybug to save N and V. And, considering that her care towards N has pretty much increased manifold, Uzi chose the latter option to save the only person whom she liked and who liked her back.

Then there is Episode 6. Not too much to talk on here since the development is again rushed, but its still notable. When Uzi notices that Alice had released the Sentinels to deal with N and "Tessa", she realized that N was in danger. And she literally prioritized N's safety over her own control over the Solver, literally being possessed by Cyn at some point, to open the door to Alice's room and distract the Sentinels from N. Furthermore, in that one scene where V aims her gun at the Sentinel, a scene similar to Uzi and N's chat in Episode 4 plays out, but this time the roles are reversed; Uzi is now trying to talk to N, checking in on why he was feeling down.

And I think this is where her development ends? I could be stupid and she develops further in the final two episodes, or I got her development completely wrong. But either way, we now see Uzi as a little more empathetic towards others and opening up more towards other people, especially those that she trusts. And I think its because of this development that's making me love Uzi a little more now.

And that essentially wraps up my Trike Talk. If you've made it this far, have yet another Uzi plush. Once again, you deserve it.

Welp, there goes any hopes for Season 2...

For a TL;DR: Liam is officially stepping away from social media, with his 'official' Discord server now becoming community run.

Essentially, 99.99% hopes for a MD Season 2 have been sucked away by this one message. Of course, there is that 0.01% of hope that's remaining, since he has said that he is still animating, but the chances of a MD Season 2 is now astronomically small. Like, even lower than the chances of fossilisation.

I guess we're gonna have to rely on fan projects to keep this fandom alive after all. And we can always loop back to the single season that we got to enjoy what we were given.

Goodbye Liam, and thank you so much for cooking up this amazing show...

As an update to that one post that I made... here are two dinosaur rigs that I have finished for my animation!

FYI, this was the first post that I am referring to: https://www.reddit.com/r/Dinosaurs/comments/1uciiug/regarding_nanotyrannus_am_i_overthinking_things/

The Triceratops was actually finished a while ago, but I figured that I might as well post here now. The coloration was heavily inspired by Saurian's Triceratops, especially when it comes to the spots and red head. It was based off of Gregory S. Paul's skeletal reconstruction in the Princeton Field Guide to Dinosaurs (I know he makes some crackhead theories at times, but it was the only decent Trike skeletal that I could find).

The Nanotyrannus was finished yesterday. I originally based its coloration off of Junior from Dinosaur Revolution, but it kinda looks like a Skullcrawler now that I look at it lmao. Ironically enough, while the Nanotyrannus was named after BMRP 2006.4.4 (Petey), he was based off of BMRP 2002.4.1 (Jane), with the original skeletal coming from Scott Hartman.

And yes, I gave the dinosaurs nicknames. Why? I don't know either.

Hot take incoming (art made by me).

Yeah, I said it. This is 100% going to be an unpopular opinion in here lmao.

Again, I DO NOT HATE THE SHOW. In fact, I even respect Gooseworx and GLITCH for the amount of effort that they put into the show's writing, animation ect.

But, to be brutally honest, I'm just not really interested in watching it. I am a person who doesn't really care too much about a show's writing and care more about its entertainment value. And TADC honestly doesn't seem that interesting to me since, from what I've heard, not much really happens.

I think its weird though; I was interested in Murder Drones after a while and, after giving it a watch, absolutely loved it. So I have no idea why I'm not interested in TADC at all.

Once again, I don't hate this show and heavily respect it and its impact on indie animation. I just don't think its my cup of tea.

Prehistoric Planet's Triceratops

If it wasn't obvious by now, Triceratops is EASILY my favourite dinosaur (and favourite animal) of all time. And I honestly found it pretty sad to see that it doesn't really get to do much in most documentaries or movies that I have seen. And, to top it all off, most designs of Triceratops range from okay to downright forgettable (with an exception to Prehistoric Park, Dinosaur Revolution and The Truth About Killer Dinosaurs)

So, when Prehistoric Planet was first announced, I was hoping that Triceratops would appear in it and they would be able to finally do it justice, both in terms of design and how they are used. And oh boy, they absolutely delivered with this portrayal of Triceratops.

Prehistoric Planet's Triceratops doesn't just look spot on to what the real life animal looked like (except for colours + patterns); it is also beautiful from an artistic standpoint.

First off, the colouration and patterning. I absolutely love the colours of the younger males specifically, with their beautiful greenish-grey bodies, beige underbellies for countershading and red frills with black stripes that really just stick out to me. The patterns on all of the Trike variants are good too, with their cool stripes with, again, lighter coloured underbellies with a pretty cool splotch of colour on the frills. This honestly makes the Trikes look awesome to look at whilst also ensuring that they still look natural.

I also absolutely love the amount of individual variation that they gave to each Triceratops. A slight nitpick I have with other Trike designs in media is that they all look the same, which isn't really that accurate to real life, since we can see a ton of variation of horn and frill shape between individuals. I usually don't talk about this since I don't think most documentaries or and movies really have the budget to make a new model for each Triceratops, but in Prehistoric Planet they absolutely blew it out of the park here. Each Triceratops' horns and frills are different to each other in terms of size and shape. And you can really tell a lot about whether a Trike is a male or female simply by looking at their horns and frills; males have far longer, straighter horns that point forward, whilst females' are shorter curve more upwards.

Then there's the juvenile Trikes. And, oh boy, they are adorable as hell with their stubby little horns, big eyes and (kind of) chubby appearance. Their coloration is also pretty good too, being somewhat lighter and feeling a little less rugged than the adults. Not too much to say here, but they're easily one of the most adorable designs in the show for me.

Finally, I absolutely love what they did with the old male in Season 2. I would say that it is kind of weird that his coloration looks a little bit more like a female Trike in the show, but I think its simply a reminder of the Trike's old age (stated to be 30). And, considering that many animals often lose their coloration as they grow older, its a nice touch. And, not only does he look absolutely intimidating with those giant horns, I also love how he has a small chunk of his frill bitten off, possibly by a Tyrannosaurus. Considering that he is pretty much alive during the show, it really just makes me think that he has fought off (or even killed) a ton of Tyrannosaurus throughout his life, and all of those battles have simply added onto his experience as a battle hardened veteran.

All in all, Prehistoric Planet's Triceratops is literally perfect in almost every single way, both in terms of accuracy and an artistic standpoint, and it is easily my favourite depiction of the Three-Horned Face in all of media.
