TI15 Fantasy - Best Core/Mid/Support picks after Swiss stage, backed by full match data
Swiss is over and the Elimination Round is deciding who fills out the final Main Event field — which means everyone's about to get another shot at adjusting their Fantasy roster. Before you do, I pulled every Swiss stage match (97 games, 39 series) and built proper performance rankings by role, scored against the actual TI15 Fantasy emblem categories, so you've got real data behind your picks instead of just going off name recognition or Twitter hype.
Two views, because they answer different questions you actually care about when drafting:
- Best Series — a pair/player's single strongest Bo3 (their top 2 games in that series) — this is literally how Valve's own Fantasy scoring works, so it tells you ceiling.
- Full Tournament — every game they played, summed up — tells you consistency, i.e. who you can trust to perform even on an average night.
A pick that's strong in both is the safe pick. A pick that's only strong in one is a real risk/reward call — worth knowing which type you're drafting.

Zoom out to every game they played, and Satanic+Noticed lead by a wide margin on a per-game basis — they weren't good once, they were good every game. If you want a Core pick that won't randomly tank your score on an off week, this is the safer bet.

Risk to know before you pick: Yuma+Wisper's huge series came against Team Resilience (2-3 finish, bottom-half team) — some of that number is opponent quality, not pure dominance. Satanic+Noticed's consistency came against a tougher mixed slate including Team Falcons. Weigh that if you're choosing between "explosive vs weak team" and "steady vs everyone."

This is the one role where the ceiling pick and the consistency pick are literally the same pair. Same story as LGD's Supports — lorenof tops both leaderboards. There's genuinely no argument for a different Mid pick right now unless you're deliberately hedging against Nigma missing the Main Event field.

Worth watching if you want a backup: Topson's LGD debut (replacing the banned TaiLung) lands a strong #2/#3 in both views — a legitimate second option if you're worried about Nigma's Main Event path.
Before you draft off this: a transparency check
I verified whether the "best series" my model picked for each pair actually lines up with games they won, not just games with big stats in a loss. Results:
- Core: 6 mismatches out of 44 games checked (~14%) — but every top-5 pair listed above is clean (their standout series were also series they won).
- Support: 14 out of 44 (~32%) — noisier, take lower-ranked Support pairs with more caution.
- Mid: 9 out of 42 (~21%).
Bottom line: every pick recommended above passed the check. Lower down each leaderboard is where you'd start seeing stat-padded losses inflating a ranking.
Quick methodology note (full breakdown in comments if anyone wants it): roles mapped from confirmed Pos1-5 rosters (not OpenDota's unreliable lane_role field), Core/Support scored as combined pairs since that's how the actual War Banner mechanic works in-game, stats z-scored against role averages, only stats matching real TI15 emblem colors included (Red/Blue/Green). Data pulled via OpenDota SQL Explorer, league ID 19719.
