Some of you may recall my post yesterday about 147gr Speer Gold Dots possibly going supersonic. Went out to a flat range today with some S&B 140gr subs and the results were much more pleasing. They were a whole lot quieter than the Gold Dot. I had some people say that the iPhone videos are unreliable, and I agree, but I included one anyway. I’ll leave the video from yesterday’s post in the comments as well. Better backdrop and no trees certainly helped too.
I just shot the first few rounds through my new OCL Universe36. I was using the vented 9mm end cap. I was expecting much quieter in all honesty, solely based on videos I’ve seen of other suppressed 9mm.
I am running a 5” EPC9 Upper on a standard AR15 lower.
It was definitely quieter suppressed. Obviously. People in the house claimed not to hear the shots. I was wearing ear pro (because I’m soft) but the cameraman was not. He claimed it not to be absurd, but not really quiet. I agreed. Video is the second shot fired, about 7 seconds after the first.
What I’m thinking:
