The extended leaks add context. Corlys isn't bastardophobic, on the contrary, he accuses Rhaenyra of being one. Therefore, after deciding she's ashamed of surrounding herself with bastards and elevating them, he explodes about how Luke, Jace and Joffrey.

Rhaenyra, on her part, just acting rationally and politically cautiously. She's not rejecting him. She wants to postpone it. Not make it her first decision.

I sense Corlys is being overly hysterical about demanding it here and now, but the remark about bastards wasn't about him not loving his step grandchildren. He's proven time and again that he loved them. It's about Rhaenyra is afraid of compromising herself for his children.

All of this is obvious from the show, too, but I see this fake narrative again and again. And it's so obvious that the only reason this discourse was created by TG fans is to "wash away" Aegon's crime (child rape). Because "Rhaenyra did it too."

I rarely say this, but some fan groups are disgrace to the ASOIAF community. I've never seen anyone worse than Aegon fans.
