Me [25M] and my wife [24F]...I am not understanding her mixed signals...

Me \[25M\] and my wife \[24F\] come from middle-class families. We decided to marry impulsively without knowing each other well. Within 1.5 months, we got married, and we both took a stand for each other. She even left her job as an air hostess to be with me.

We lived together for 1.5 months, but her expectations of an expensive lifestyle, international travel, and a ₹25L car started putting financial pressure on me. Eventually, she went to her parents' house.

Yesterday, I went to convince her to return, but she said she's not ready for marriage and wants to live freely without the marriage tag. However, she was still kissing me and sitting in my lap in front of her parents.

I'm confused. How can someone show so much love while saying they don't want to continue the marriage? Does she love me but feel overwhelmed by marriage, or has she changed her mind?

25M & 24F Married Couple Facing Separation and Career Confusion

My wife[24 F] and I [25M] met in May 2026, and we got married in June 2026. The marriage happened somewhat unexpectedly because of family circumstances and other unplanned things.

After getting married, we lived together for about 1.5 months, and during that time we shared a beautiful bond. We both come from middle-class families.

After some time, she started talking about wanting an expensive car, travelling around the world, and having a financially bigger lifestyle. She wanted to start a big business, but she wanted to run it from her parents’ place.

I tried to explain to her that these things take time and that we could build our lives and grow together gradually. I wanted us to stay together and have a beautiful married life while working toward our goals.

However, she wanted us to have a long-distance marriage for a year. She wanted to stay at her parents’ place and maintain the relationship through phone calls. I didn't want that. I wanted us to actually live together as husband and wife rather than have a long-distance marriage.

This has left me extremely emotionally confused. She doesn't want to leave me, but she also doesn't want to live with me right now. I don't understand how a long-distance marriage is supposed to work, especially when what I wanted was to build a life together.

I’m also getting a job opportunity in Bangalore, partly because I’m thinking about focusing on my own career and giving myself some space. I may move there and come back home after around 2.5 years.

At one point, because of all the emotional confusion, we discussed taking a much longer period apart and focusing on our careers. The idea eventually became that we would have no contact and meet again after around 2.5–3 years.

She doesn't want to end the marriage either. She wants to stay married but live separately at her parents' place for now, while I wanted us to live together and build our life together.

I know you’re probably going to say that we’re too young to be married, but we’re married now.

I’m 25 and my wife is 23. We got married on 26 June 2026. Now, she has decided to start her business from her parents’ place, and she is asking me to come and stay there with her. Or else, she says that once her business becomes stable, we can rent a house somewhere midway between her parents’ place
