A new sun shines over XBOX and PC while the sun sets on SONY.

Saw the news about Sony....

Whatever is currently going wrong for Sony might sting people who are PlayStation only, but the bigger picture is that their misstep ultimately benefits the gaming industry as a whole. Now that Physint is heading to Xbox, PC players won't have to wait a year for a Kojima game to release.

Sony has been manipulating the market for far too long through deals and exclusives arrangements that arguably only benefit the console market, if at all. Worse, they've been notorious for bringing third-party games under their publishing banner specifically to block rival console owners and keep them off PC, the one truly open platform.

Xbox aint no saint either, but they're clearly the lesser evil. They don't throw their weight around to lock PC players out of a game just to push console sales.

So yeah, I'm fully here for the Sony spiral.

To all the Iron Men out there.

Saw the new balance patch. Read through it twice, actually, hoping I'd missed a buff hiding somewhere. Nope. Half the roster got christmas in september. Iron Man got the same present he's gotten for ten seasons straight nothing.

A Small Recap:

Season 9: Repulsor and Uni-beam base damage get nerfed across the board, and his flat 5% Anchor team-up bonus gets taken away. The stated reasoning: his new team-ups make him "a little too strong," so the baseline had to be compensated.

Then, about 24 hours later, the hotfix drops and kills Iron Man

  • Unibeam outer ring (standard): 84/s → 70/s (-17%)
  • Unibeam outer ring (Armor Overdrive): 108/s → 85/s (-21%)

Same hotfix, buffed Cyclops, Phoenix, and Widow. No comparable justification for gutting an already mediocre team-up less than a day into the season. At that point it wasn't a nerf, it was a hate crime.

And now, heading into a new season, almost the entire cast gets stronger while a handful of actual raid bosses get a slap on the wrist (except Black cat).

Could the balancing team tell me why:

  • His base damage is outclassed by basically the whole dps roster in a straight 1v1, yet he's somehow still the one getting balanced around the hypothesis that low elo players cant deal with him.
  • He doesn't proc overshields for existing, unlike some dominant dps who apparently get one for pressing a button in general while already having a bigger HP pool than 250HP.
  • His ult is functionally a suicide note. (Whole team turns around and blows you up)
  • If you somehow get the ult off, a dude who has the power to control metal can somehow absorb your proton nuclear bomb and use it for his team.
  • Entering/exiting Armor Overdrive and stopping flight are self-inflicted stuns. It's like if reloading your gun also handcuffed you for 0.5s.
  • Melee characters fly better, can chase, stun-lock and out-duel Iron Man in the skybox.

I know the argument coming, "he's a metal-rank demon, we need to balance him for low elo". Personally I think so is Bucky, Elsa and Moon Knight . Somehow only one of them has been serving a 10 season sentence. This is a shooter learning to aim is part of the game, if you are in one of the lower elos and cant kill a flying target, dare I say, use the practice range and get better and you'll see that it wasn't that hard to deal with an Iron Man all along.

At my rank (cele), playing Iron Man feels like punishment. Not enough damage to out-DPS healing, an ult that gets countered before it finishes charging, a detection radius the size of an elephant thanks to the sound design, and a kit that loses 1v1s to most of other dps in a straight fight.

If anyone from the balance team sees this. Please play your own game for once. I'm done till y'all figure out what to do with Iron Man.

They nerfed ironman less than 24 hours after already gutting his base kit

Season 9 dropped July 10. In that patch, Iron Man's base Repulsor/Unibeam numbers got nerfed across the board, and his flat 5% team-Up Anchor damage bonus was removed entirely. The stated reasoning was that his new teamups make him a little too strong so his baseline had to be shaved to compensate. Fine you nerf his base stats and roll out new teamups, players are trying to get used to the damage nerf (even with the teamups) yet and then.....

Todays hotfix (barely 24 hours later) straight up nerfs the already weak Thor team-up.

- Unibeam outer ring (standard): 84/s → 70/s (-17%)

- Unibeam outer ring (Armor Overdrive): 108/s → 85/s (-21%)

Meanwhile this same hotfix buffed Cyclops, Phoenix, and Widow while Ironman ate another nerf with no comparable justification. Like is the balance philosophy nerf him before he's even good, then nerf the thing you gave him to make up for it. That's not balancing, that's just never letting players have fun.

We're not asking for him to be meta-defining. We're asking for one full season where he actually feels good enough to play.

We need to post on the main sub

This is our small corner of the Internet and we discuss nerfs here and how unsable netease wants ironman to be but to the overall community they might just be oblivious. So I think if we talk about this patch on the main sub the devs might notice because there is no way they are smart enough to balance on their own, every patch it seems like they dont even play their own game almost.

The new strange skin comes with a very insignificant advantage

Everyone who plays Strange knows the reload animation cancel by heart, but the new skin will play a dog bark the exact moment you completely refill your ammo, so now you won't accidentally make a mistake.

I did my first play through with Path Tracing on DLSS Quality and 2x FG and certain parts of the game mid combat i was feeling the game wasnt as smooth as id hoped it would be and thought to myself of doing another run with just raytracing enabled.

At the start there wasnt as much noise as i assumed would there so, i was happy, then when i got to the shelter i could see noise around the floor when Diana was running or i was. Cabin has a lot of noise around this arms. Still fine. Fast forward and i get to NYC section and this is what i see.

So as a request to Capcom, please just let us enable RayReconstruction with Raytracing. There is no point for yall to not give us the option as it is already implemented in the game. You guys can make the game look a lot better for people who either cant use PT or dont want to use it to favor fps. It's a smudgy-blurry mess right now.
