When is wildflower season?

Thinking of visiting in late June, will there be wildflowers then? Or is later in the summer better? I know that Crested Butte has their festival in mid-July, but have been there in August & seen lots of blooms.

Anguilles au Vert (Eels in Green Sauce) without the eels

Anguilles au Vert is a regional dish from Belgium, that I'd like to make substituting some other fish for the eel (which aren't available where I live). Any ideas for good subs? It's kind of a fish stew with lots of different herbs.

Shuttle hikes with car key exchange?

In the 1970s, it was fairly common when doing a backpacking hike requiring a car shuttle to:
- meet some random stranger at the midpoint going the other way
- exchange car keys and
- meet up again at a pre-arranged place, at a certain date & appx time

This was mainly in the Sierra Nevada and Grand Canyon rim to rim, but also for day hikes in Zion & Yosemite. Times were different then, but is this still a thing people do?

Edit: Thanks for everyone's replies. Makes me realize how some things were more complicated before the internet. But still need the paper maps!

Is Tarragon a perennial here?

I see postings here mentioning mint & tarragon as rogue spreaders. That actually suits me well, since I'm looking for something to fill in a problem space.

I'm looking for a survey of western classical music. If there's no podcast like this, maybe an on-line college course?
