Are people divided on light's personality? Is it because of changes in manga and anime?

I always see ppl divided on light's personality even in this sub and though he's the main character.

...is it because anime didn't adapt some manga aspects of light?

Like in manga light shows far more hesitation and even rationalized guilt after killing 2 ppl accidentally as he didn't want to be a killer so he felt guilty and this led to self justification right ?
He even says if kira is not caught he's justice if he's caught then he's evil...that's why he kind of had a mental breakdown in warehouse in anime...his guilt, self justification and loss caught up to him...

But many ppl still say he's evil from beginning..

So apart from his ideology why do ppl think light is evil from beginning though he is nuanced and still decent person in manga pre death note? I though even in anime yotsuba arc showed this.

What's your opinion on this? Do you think most ppl as a whole agree on light's personality? I always see various interpretations of light out of all mcs.

Is Lelouch really morally grey?

People say Lelouch is morally grey but really is he ?

All his actions were made in context of a war...and political situation....sure he messed up with euphemia and shirley but they understood him and forgave him....all he did was use geass on unnamed grunts of Britannian empire soldiers who were gonna kill him anyway so is Lelouch really morally grey?

Sure he's somewhat arrogant but apart from that he doesn't really seem to be morally grey...

Even in movies all his close friends as well a enemies understand and forgive his actions...

And his goal was not even evil...it was to get rid of a evil empire

So do you personally think Lelouch is morally grey? All his actions can be excused by fact that he's in a war setting and in films where he's retrieved his personal enemies understand him too.

How did you find light yagami's character in Jump Force game?

So anyone here heard of jump force game and played it?

Surprisingly light yagami appeared there....

How did you find light yagami's personality there? He was Surprisingly calm and rational there right...and didn't use that magic powers to take over world or something. He was a strategist for heroes there.

So any opinion of his character there in Jump force? I think it's only game where he appears (maybe kira wins au there and heroes don't know) only media apart from manga.

Why do people say light yagami killed people randomly when in manga it's acknowledged that he actually does research?

In Death Note manga, light in yotsuba arc acknowledged that Kira didn't kill randomly and even researched while killing ppl....even in latter half of death note manga it's acknowledged that light researches before killing ppl randomly and does through independent study too...before killing ppl....

So I get that latter part of anime did skip crucial details like this but still in manga light even targeted corrupt politicians, only brutal criminals and even spared petty criminals..

Sure he still killed Raye Pember, Naomi but that was self defense he didn't kill randomly. During his 6 years of rule he didnt kill ppl randomly.

Even during his conversation with kiyomi light says he doesn't want ppl to blindly trust kira and would like ppl to make independent judgement too...

He even opposed mikamis plan to kill lazy ppl...

Idk im writing all this because ppl think light was killing randomly but during his 6 year rule he was actually less worse when I re read Death Note manga...ig these things arent that clear in anime...anime did skip 2nd half details like this...

Because to me on re read light is not as evil as he appears to me..it wasn't bad as ppl said.. and in universe many ppl did want his rule...crime rates did go down 70% etc...HE ENDED WARS TOO.

Even his god hood proclamation was sort of just title for judging ppl...he didn't physically believe he became a god

What do you all think of this...is light judged too unfairly? Is it because killing criminals hits too home too close for many ppl?

Your unpopular opinion on light yagami's character?

My unpopular opinion is light yagami genuinely loved his family.

Writers said that he would have stopped being kira if his family found out in interviews that's why he kept his kira life and family life separate. That's why I hate it when adaptations of death note live action have him kill his dad. He gave up notebook for sayu too in manga.

2015 TV death note light yagami the most nicer one killed his dad something that manga light yagami didn't do.

Apart from his ideology what unpopular opinion do you have on light yagami's character?

How'd Lelouch and suzaku see pre death note light yagami?

Okay so light and Lelouch are always compared but let's say light never got death note and remained innocent...in manga in chapter 1 light actually had friends that he likes (that scene wasn't shown in anime).

How'd Lelouch and suzaku see that ver of light yagami? Who's innocent and still believes in reform ? Would tehy see this light as better than kira?

If Lelouch and suzaku had to compare innocent light vs kira who'd they both find more interesting?

Is bleach universe bleakest of big 3 anime?

I know naruto and one piece worlds are not exactly paradise but by the time boroto comes along naruto world improved a lot and is continuously improving...we see huge lasting changes...

In one piece although there is slavery, ppl try to end it and free slaves and revolutionary army going against world government...one piece we get sense that it's hopeful and things won't be bleak forever. Its not just a statement we actually see the improvements and hope that they put in action.

Meanwhile in bleach, though I love bleach it often feels like most bleak universe out of big 3...seireitei is hopelessly corrupt, endless poverty, state sanctioned cruel inhuman experiments, existence of mayuri and kisuke (although they were necessary it was not necessary for them to experiment on souls especially kisuke who recruited mayuri..even kenpachi disliked mayuri more than kisuke)...it seems like ends do become the means....mayuri deleted 20,000 poor souls in slums if he was so concerned with balance why not delete rich nobles souls?

Even though apparently in novels it's stated that things improved....but they don't show it...poverty and soul experimenting still exists...it seems worse to me because it's the afterlife and afterlife is worse than world of living. Those who say its inspired by buddism..even buddhism isn't this cruel and actually has heaven too. Life itself is cruel imagine afterlife being endlessly more cruel.

You aren't even reunited with your family in afterlife and they might be experimented on, or wandering alone in slums💔💔

I know alternatives are worse (and aizen dgaf about anyone except himself) but it seems like in bleach there's not much difference between current and alternatives.

So do you all think bleach has bleakest universe of big 3 ?

Aizen’s dynamic with shinji vs his dynamic with kisuke...whose dynamic do you like more?

So both of these dynamics are popular in fandom (especially aizen shinji one its so popular) which dynamic did you like more between both?

What's your opinion on aizen kisuke rivalry/dynamic?

So I'm a new fan of bleach so idk if this is a popular view or not but is aizen and kisuke rivalry popular like how naruto and sasuke, light yagami and L rivalry is popular?

I heard of their rivalry but it seems underrated and I think we should have seen more of their dynamic.

How do you find their dynamic with each other? Do you think it's well written? Do you think we should have seen more of their dynamic?

Your unpopular opinion on aizen?

Mine is a very unpopular opinion that's going to be very controversial...but I think aizen though a very good character, his loneliness is very overrated....we just never see his supposed loneliness in manga and it feels like ichigo was just projecting into aizen....and aizen defeat makes more sense that ichigo and kisuke beat him not through any supposed self defeat....I know kubo is a master of implications and subtle writing but idk in aizens case of supposed "loneliness" it just didnt seem believable to me ......he was having time of his life and genuinely delighted when he was doing his villian shit...even in manga in quincy war he's still arrogant etc....I just cannot buy his loneliness angle at all...and worse part is when asked about Aizen’s complexity super aizen stans always go for loneliness angle that is no way supported by manga...sorry aizen fans.

Also aizen is just not good at science he steals too much from kisuke not once but all the time he steals kisukes gadgets and doesn't seem to understand them till the end..

So got any unpopular opinions on aizen?

Any unpopular opinion you have on kisuke's character?

Do you all have any unpopular opinion on kisuke's character?

I wish we could see his thoughts on creation more and how his scientist type personality shaped his worldview etc.....he really loves to invent forbidden stuff so i wish we could have seen that more...I wish bleach had more female scientists or more competent scientists so he could finally have competent scientist friends (mayuri is a butcher he doesn't count)

So do you all have any unpopular opinion about kisuke ?

Anyone else feel that kisuke urahara is kinda underrated in fandom?

Now don't get me wrong I known kisuke is very popular but I feel compared to shinji, gin, ichigo, espada and aizen I feel like ppl are not really invested in kisuke compared to aizen....

I also feel he's underrated and bascially he's more important to plot of bleach in general as he single handedly contributes a lot like in technology, tactics, making new techniques etc.....he was more shady in earlier bleach and even every villian like aizen, askin, mayuri and yhwach praise him or notice him more so idk I feel he deserves more ..insight into his character..

..like even aizen steals a lot of technology and devices from him (RIP to aizen who I thought was a superior inventor before watching the show) and doesn't even understand them so he'd got aizen beat there too...tbh kisuke would have been ideal candidate for a villian too.

Did aizen stalk kisuke from beginning even before kisuke befriending yoruichi?

In a interview kubo said aizen knew about kisuke even before kisuke got involved with yoruichi...how?

Is it true or was aizen just lying? Also doesnt kisuke seem to be older than aizen too?...

So all his early life was aizen just...stalking kisuke, his experiments etc?
