I have been wanting to go but have to leave from Pittsburgh to Houston and then to Roatan. Flights even way out into next year are just stupidly pricey. Anyone have any tips, like fly onto Mexico City and then to Roatan on a non US based carrier. Obviously summer would be cheaper (I hope). Just looking for flight tips/tricks.
I live in a 1950 ranch that we redid. In the past we had problems with a slow moving sludge in the sewer. Found a great plumber, he put in a Y in the basement (had to did up) and tried to increase the slope of the original terra cotta pipes. We got backed up a couple of times (prior to his repairs) and he was able to use the camera and running water to move the sludge down over the hill. It's not a clog. Thing is it gets corpse flies in the sludge and when we pop the toilet to push it away they come out and invade the basement for a week or two. I use a big zapper light and it clears them out eventually but it's nasty. I think we are getting backed up again, my wife and daughter have lots of hair and use lots of products. The terra cotta pipe is still pristine remarkably (he showed me on the camera). It seems this sludgy area that forms a thicker fluid is more like a septic system so would it be worth trying something like a septic shock to see if that would digest it enough for water and waste to move more freely again? Toilets are flushing fine but we have a urinal in the basement bathroom and when it starts draining more slowly I know the sludge is building up. Not against calling my guy, I just don't want to release that swarm of flies right now. I tried some other bio products and we always flush 2x because the slope of the original pipes was made for high volume flushing toilets, not the eco friendly ones you have to buy now, but they didn't work. Just wondering if s septic enzyme or bacterial product might work? Sorry for any typos, on my phone.

I asked Claude to build a web scraper that would pull free publicly available information from a State Government web page. I was asking the scraper to aggregate information by County. Otherwise I have to search by an individual instance/ref #. Any given County has 5-25K instances so I was asking Claude to scrape by County and export a spreadsheet. I am not asking for advice regarding my anthropic account. This is just an FYI.
All of the data I was attempting to scrape is public and available at no cost. You just have to search one by one referencing a number tied to the instance, and you can search the web page by County, and it will display the ref # for all of the instances, you just can't download them all except for one at a time and there are thousands. I need the spreadsheet in order to import into another software package. It was running fine and I was working with Claude to debug some things and paused for the night. When I woke up I had an email stating that my account was banned and I was going to be issued a refund.
Didn't even know this place existed. Sounds like a perfect spot to go off grid and get paid, by hippies.

I'm an alum, BSc MSc. My son will be a Senior in high school. We are coming for a visit once campus repopulates in the fall. Any Chemistry majors lurking on this sub? He's a good student, 3.9 and 1300 SAT and wants to major in Chem. Either to apply to med school (so maybe bio chem) or just stay straight chem and pursue that avenue. Just wanted some honest feedback from those in the program, at any level.
Used to do a lot of backpacking (wilderness) all over the lower 48 of the US. It's been 20 years though and my son is now in high school and wants to go. I would like to ease back into it, think 10 miles out, camp, hike back the next day. Looking for recommendations for a mid grade backpacking tent. Not planning on doing any cold weather stuff at this point.
