Looking for resume feedback & honest thoughts on the US job market (already based in the US)

Hey everyone,

I would really appreciate some fresh eyes on my resume. I am currently living in the US and getting ready to actively apply for roles, but I want to make sure my formatting and phrasing match what US hiring managers expect.

https://imgur.com/a/lUsA5rC

Specifically, I would love your input on:

  • Overall layout: Is the information easy to scan within 10 to 15 seconds?
  • Bullet points: Do the achievements and technical skills translate clearly?
  • Market outlook: For those currently hiring or job-hunting, how realistic is the market right now for someone with this background?

Any constructive criticism, formatting tips, or general advice on navigating the current hiring landscape would be a huge help.

Thanks in advance for your time!

Amazfit Balance 2 Metal Case

Can you guys suggest a metal frame that I can install on my balance 2 but with enough space to install a screen protector (easy to install and take off at the same time)

Thanks!

Balance 2 XT replying to notifications

So why I can’t reply to notifications in my Balance 2 XT? Whatsapp, IOS texting..etc? Is it a setting option that I need to turn on?

Balance 3 for $200?

Is it worth it to be the Balance 3 (new box) from this chick on facebook instead of the Balance 2 XT for $120 from Best Buy? Will I ever need the warranty?

Balance 2 vs Balance 2 XT

If I will use a screen protector on my balance 2 XT, and I won’t be downloading the world map

Why should I get the Balance 2? Is there anything other than the Sapphire screen and the bigger storage?

Thanks!

Judge me

Just saying that the Pizza, ice cream are for when my girlfriend visits me

ALSO the bread, the cheese and the big box in the freezer are for my neighbor (the rest is mine)

Is a PE license worth it for MEP field work?

Hi everyone,

I recently moved to the US from South America, so I am still trying to completely understand how the engineering career system works here.

I have a couple of years of experience in MEP (HVAC). Through my work, I've realized two things:

  1. I love site work and being out in the field.
  2. I absolutely hate design and drafting work.

I am decent at design, but sitting at a desk drafting and drawing all day is not for me. However, when looking for jobs, it seems like every good position is asking for an FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) or a PE (Professional Engineer) license.

Because of the money and career growth, I am considering pursuing my license, but I have a few questions for those in the industry:

  • Is a PE license worth it for someone who wants to stay strictly in the field? Do field engineers, resident engineers, or commissioning agents actually need to stamp drawings or hold a PE to move up?
  • Does field-based engineering pay well compared to design engineering? Can you make good money staying on-site without transitioning into an office design role?
  • Are there specific job titles I should look for? I want to avoid roles that are bait-and-switch where they promise field work but keep you at a desk drafting in AutoCAD or Revit.

I appreciate any insight or advice you can give me on how to navigate this!

Making representable figures from simulation data

Hey All,

I'm trying to add some simulation data from SolidWorks to a research paper I'm writing, I want to make it presentable, professional , somehow fancy and easy to be read.

for example here, I'm trying to show a mode shape by showing the non deformed body

what tools are you guys using? I appreciate every suggestion

Thanks!

I’m a grad student, I have a very good background in Mechanics, Dynamics, Statics, Vibration

Did a couple of static, dynamic, modal analysis studies in my life, linear and non linear, on multiple materials and applications

I just hate linear algebra, I hate the theory of FEM, (I’m good at math and I love it, but not linear algebra)

Will this stop me from working as a FE analyst/engineer?
