Why do I still feel shaky and faint and hungry after eating 1400 calories.

Why do I still feel shaky and faint and hungry after eating 1400 calories.

All I have eaten today is a bowl of cereal, some crisps, 2 sausages, 2 eggs and one piece of bacon. obviously bacon and sausages arent ideal but my mum made them and so I had to eat them, which is the case with a lot of my meals, i dont always have choice which is making a calorie deficit even harder.

But yeah i have eaten ~1400 calories and I still feel shakey standing up. I dont know what to do or how to survive this calorie deficit I am always so hungry and bad at stopping myself overeating.

Just very sad and stressed. I wish I could be better

Not losing, help!

I'm 46, female and 5ft 2. I weight 192lbs and my tdee is 1268 which is a deficit of 500 calories. I've been eating at this deficit for 4 weeks and have gained 5lbs.

I understand that losing weight at my age may be slow but I keep gaining!

Any advice would be great thankyou

Are calories burned when running really that high?

Hi all, just need a quick sense check

If my calculations are correct,

I (a person weighing 76 kg)

burn 850-900 calories

when running 12 km in one hour (12 km/h, 5:00/km pace)?

Is this right? This feels like an insanely high amount of calories burned for what is a really easy, sustainable run for me, that I could happily do every day? Is this correct? Is there a catch?

Tall girl weight

I’m a female in my late 20s on the taller side (5’9). Trying to figure out a goal weight. Weighed 125 at my lowest which looked too small/weak/felt constantly hungry. At my highest probably during college I was high 150s. Right now I’m around 145. I have a “skinny fat” look after regaining weight after a period of restrictive eating last year. I feel like I looked my best around the 135 territory but not sure if that’s a sustainable weight for my height.

Can I get some advice from women on the taller side—what do you feel is a sustainable weight range for you? What’s your activity level like? If applicable how many calories are you consuming to support that weight range for your activity level?

Thanks!!

Is a 700 calorie deficit too much?

23F 73kg and 165cm/5’4

My maintenance calories are 2300 and I have been told if I drop my calories down to 1600 that I will loose about 0.5-0.7kg a week, I’m prioritising my protein intake (around 130-150) and am training 5 days a week with a specific cardio day which makes it 6 days a week and doing bits of cardio on other days. Is this too low? Will I not see any muscle gain or will I loose what muscle I have? I’ve been training again for around 8-10 months now and really don’t want to loose any muscle I have gained.

How to figure out my Calorie deficit?

Hello, I’m a 40 yrs old female trying to lose 6 lbs. I’m currently 126lbs and last year same time I was around 118. Beginning of this year I noticed my weight was slowly but steadily going up. I workout 3 times a week with a group of ladies lead by a trainer where we use hands, weight and HIIT. I would say depending on the workout I would burn around 150-200 cal based on my Apple Watch. I stared to do an incline walk after my workout at zone 2 and burn around 150-200 cal and I walk at least 7k steps. As for food, I downloaded cronometer three weeks ago and I was eating 2000 cal based on my expenditure but I noticed I’m starting to gain weight so I had to fix my targets at 1700 cal with 115G protein, 60G fat and the rest is net carbs. I’m taking creatine since May which helped a lot with brain fog and strength and drink 100 oz water. Sometimes I feel it’s water retention but my pants are tight at the abdomen and thighs area. My question is 1700 considered enough deficit to lose 0.5lb weekly or should I go lower. I tried different calculators and each one gives me different number sometimes as low as 1350 but if I go this low I will be hungry. Any help is appreciated. I would like to add that bc it’s summer break sometimes I wake up late and won’t get hungry until around 12:30 to start my first meal with at least 30 grams of protein and sometimes I won’t get hungry until 9:30 pm to eat my last meal. Is this ok or it’s sabotaging my weight goal journey. I would like to add that I saw an endocrinologist and we tested my insulin and cortisol levels and both were normal.

Homemade summer rolls

Calories 445, fat 18, carbs 53, protein 18

It might be a little guilty pleasure, but they are stuffed with imitation crab sticks, fresh basil, carrots, onion, cucumber jalapeno and Romaine lettuce. Homemade Thai peanut sauce on the side. I'm trying to keep my meals between 450 and 550 calories

I’m losing but it’s not constant

I’m a 25F who’s 5’5 and 173lbs trying to get to 125lbs. I feel like I’m eating the amount of calories that should be making me lose 2lbs a week but I average about 1lb a week. But it’s all at once. I’ll plateau the whole month then after my period I’ll lose like 5 pounds it’s weird. I eat around 1,650 calories a day and I weigh everything I eat. My tdee says that I should be eating 1800 calories to lose 2 lbs a week. So why am I not losing 2lbs a week??

Losing my sh*t more as I get leaner

Over 6 months I’ve dropped nearly 40 pounds and I’ve got lean and built a ton of muscle but the further I get into the deficit I’m getting angry at the littlest things. Anyone else get this?

Help hit 4000+ calories on a cheat day. Ruining my diet

hey folks, i’m 25m. every weekend me and my office mates end up going to a party, and i honestly can’t avoid it because that’s pretty much my only social life right now. i live alone, so if i skip it i just feel really isolated.

i used to think i’ll make it a planned cheat day and it will be fine, but it’s kind of ruining my progress. one cheat meal turns into a whole day, then the next day also feels off, and somehow the whole week’s effort feels wasted.

overall my weekly deficit also becomes very low <100 after the big cheat day. Would appreciate any advice other than generic control yourself because I have been trying that for couple months it's clearly not working. Thanks for reading

Who ever said plant based is a low calorie diet is a dirty liar

The title is the post.

But to elaborate, I’m vegan for ethical reasons and I just had about 1800kcal in curry and rice. And then I had two homemade cookies, made from beeenz, total being about 2k

I’m over by like 400kcal but that’s ok because tomorrow is a brand new day but now I lie here bloated (in my desolate room) and ponder lies we’ve been told about plant based eating.

Did you know you can mix sweet potato and cinnamon to conjure up a pie filling? Or that beans and walnuts and cocoa powder make a delicious brownie? Yeah. Anyway, I need someone to save me from myself

Thank you for listening

Is 9500 calories a week too much

Hi! I’ve been trying to loose weight and I usually weigh my food and calculate the entirety to a weekly goal. My weight has been stalling for almost two weeks now and I’ve been eating 9500 calories a week. Am I doing something wrong? I mean I move more and I usually get 8000 steps a day :((

Figuring out calorie maintenance

I’m almost going to be on month 3 of calorie counting and consistent weight loss, except for the last week. In the last week, I had a daily average of 2020 calories, highest it’s been since I started this. I’m a 27 year old man, 5’10 and currently 179.6lbs (started at 203lbs), same exact weight I was last week when I last weighed myself. I knew I was eating more this week but I figured I was still under maintenance so I’d get at least a few decimals off but seeing nothing felt shitty

I stand up and walk all day for work, I regularly lift heavy things, I do some weight lifting exercises at home. Even though my days off are mostly sedentary, I still would think I’m lightly active and that my maintenance would be a bit higher than normal. And yet here despite beeing under the amount recommended for a sedentary person of my size and weight, I still didn’t move the needle one bit

This week wasn’t the norm and I plan on doing better with this new one so I’m not discouraged but it sucks knowing that any sort of off week even if it’s not really bad can just halt progress this hard

I weigh myself in the morning, always in the same spot, no clothing, before drinking or eating anything and after using the bathroom. Is there something I’m missing?

Meal ideas

I am 1 year postpartum and my weight has been an issue and though I do think it’s hormones I’m going to try to be very strict with my diet for the next 3 months and see if there’s any changes because so far being cautious of my diet during the week but having a cheat day on the weekend hasn’t worked for me.

I’m 5’1 28 my goal weight is about 115 for now. I’m 140 currently. I’m able to workout at least 4 days a week and I walk and get at least 7k steps a day.

Please give me your best tips and meal ideas.

I can't restrict without passing out

I can't restrict without passing out

The title basically says it all, but I need help.

My body fat is low right now, I'm trying to be on a slight deficit just to get more shredded.

Today I started my deficit, just a little under my manteinance. My blood sugar dropped harshly and I had to eat watermelon breaking my deficit.

One month ago, I passed out three times. I think it was low blood sugar. In the hospital, the doctor suspected of me having anorexia, due to my low weight. I was in front of my parents when asked and I was too embarrassed to admit it.

Last summer, I developed anorexia. Lost a lot of weight in one month. I restricted myself, I obviously didn't feel my best but I could easily eat one egg a day and keep living.

Now it seems possible.

I've read that maybe I'm developing diabetes. Maybe I've been restricting for too long. Maybe it's the amenorrhea. I'm not sure. But I really need help. I think I've just develooed hypoglycemia but I need to know how to lose weight while having it.

Has someone experienced something similar? How did they manage to live with it?

I would appreciate any comments ;)!

Eat pie for breakfast!

For those who like a sweet treat, you can make this for breakfast, like I usually do, or any time you have a sweet craving. This tastes like pie, but with way less calories.

1/2 serving of Bonne Mamman Apple Pie Filling (45 cal) or Pumpkin Pie Filling (50 cal)

1/2 serving of Trader Joe's Vanilla Bean Greek Yogurt (90 cal)

1 serving of Trader Joe's Ancient Grain Granola (130 cal)

1/2 serving of raw blueberries (47 cal)

1 serving of light whipped cream (15 calories)

All the cinnamon you want

Total: 327 calories with the apple filling, 332 calories if you go with the pumpkin.

You can also substitute the granola for anything else, it's just that it gives it a good "crust" crunch. Bonne Mamman also makes other fruit fillings and jams so you can experiment with different "pie" flavors. Also, I do half servings because I'm 4'10 so I have a high calorie deficit, but feel free to use full servings of it works for you!

Is eating 1600 calories a day and 140g of protein bad for weight loss as a 17 year old?

Hello! I am a 17 year old who has been on a calorie deficit for a while now. I am 5”10 and am slightly active (I like disc golf and go to the gym 3 times a week).

I was originally 230 pounds and over the past 5 months got to 182. I don’t know if I should continue this deficient because I have been reading that this could be unhealthy for me. I’m wondering if anyone else has any input on if this is bad and any healthier alternates to lose weight?

I’ve read I need around 2400-3000 a day so I am currently at around a 1000 calorie deficit or around 2 pounds a week.
