Will insomnia improve?

I’m on day 3 of taking 40 mg late morning. I’ll be good for awhile (but kinda brain foggy) then exhausted to where I need a nap mid day. Then I’ll be wide awake randomly in the middle of the night 😅 Does this usually improve after a bit?

Day 2

Day 2 of Strattera 40 mg for anxiety/inattentive ADHD - she didn’t want to put me on a stimulant due to the baseline of anxiety. So far I haven’t had any nausea. I did however have insomnia last night and was WIDE awake at 3 am 😅 As of now, I can see myself just sticking with it until my body acclimates. My goal is for my constant inner monologue to shut up so I can actually thrive instead of just slogging through the day 😅

2 vs 3 kids

I’m 31 and my husband is 32. Our daughter will be 2 in October 💕 we know we want another one soon, but trying to decide if we think we’ll be 2 and through or not. I do like the idea of being done by age 33/34. My husband’s siblings each have 3 children. Sometimes it doesn’t seem too bad, other times I observe their dynamics and I feel like it would genuinely be too much for me to handle. I understand everything is just a season, but man.. most of the kids are ages 4 - 9 and it just seems like A LOT lol. When we’re all together with his family, I’m just always thinking to myself “thank GOD we are just vibing over here with just one right now” 😅 I just love our dynamic now as a cute small little family & I know it’s probably going to get harder the older kids get! So I might be team 2 and through??

Tips for dealing with the sadness of weaning

I was reallllly hoping my 20 month old would just wake up one day and wean herself, but I had to make the decision instead 🥲 kinda wanting to try for baby #2 soon, just wanting my body back for a minute, but I’m also SO SAD that this special journey is over. I’m so proud we made it this far. How do you cope with the transition?

Do I want a second or is it a trick? 👀

My daughter will be 2 in a few months and I had her at 29. The 0-1 transition ROCKED me - I love this stage she’s in infinitely more than the infant stage. I’m weaning breastfeeding now, I feel less overwhelmed, and I feel like I finally have the mental capacity to enjoy motherhood and immerse myself in the good parts. But I’m delusional and thinking “hmmm maybe another one??” I’d ideally like a 3ish year gap and we’d most likely be 2 and through. Is it the hormones talking? How can I ever love another baby as deeply as my first? It’s a daily battle just trying to make the decision. 🥲

2 and done?

Anyone else also thinking they’ll be done after 2? A lot of my friends have 3. I genuinely admire those with 3 or more. I just don’t know if that lifestyle is for me. Anyone else relate?

My reasoning: no middle child, one parent per child, able to still contribute to their college funds, traveling will be easier than with 3. Also, if your first and second are healthy and fairly easy, why test fate? 😂😅

I just have zero desire to be barely surviving motherhood for years by having 3+ children. Ya know?? My daughter is 20 months and I just now feel like I’m not absolutely drowning. I feel like the trend lately is to “go for it, just do it, have the third, they’re so chill and healing !!” But I’m just thinking on a bigger scope than that…I want to genuinely show up and be a good, present mom to my two kids in their most vulnerable years. Some of my friends have one after the other because they like being pregnant/miss the newborn stage. That is such a miniscule amount of time compared to the big picture and once they are school age.

Debating TTC for #2

My daughter will be 2 in October & is still breastfeeding for comfort. I have been recently pondering TTC for another :) My siblings and I are all 4 years apart and I just always felt like our gap was a litttttle too far apart. We’re also fairly certain we’ll be 2 and done.

Postpartum ROCKED my world with my daughter. Looking back, I was in the trenches of PPD for a long time..I’m just now feeling more like myself, feeling more confident in my role as a mother, and not so overwhelmed with the massive life change. Will the second time around be more manageable? I’m also so intimidated by the idea of having to split my love and attention ~ but I want my daughter to have a sibling as well 🥺

Grow light placement

Our house has small windows that don’t get very sunny, so I got this grow light from Amazon. Does this placement look okay? I am INVESTED in this begonia and want it to thrive 🥲

How’s she looking?

I got this one 2 weeks ago and still have it in the plastic pot to acclimate. It’s facing an east window. Do the leaves look a little dry or is that normal?

Mother’s Day plans once you’re a mom

My husband and I’s parents live about 3 hours away. This is my second Mother’s Day, and this year I wanted it to be spent here with just my husband and toddler instead of traveling. Just a simple, stress free day with my cute little family. My husband and I mailed my mom/his mom a thoughtful gift & of course we’ll call to chat & wish them a Happy Mother’s Day.

Well this evening, my in laws call and say that they want to come over just for the day tomorrow. Am I an asshole for kind of wanting to say no?? Does everyone else share Mother’s Day with their mother/MIL the day of or do you dedicate that day to yourself?
