My 11 year old downstairs unit is struggling to cool my downstairs. A tech came out today and said I am about 3lbs low on my 410 2.5 ton system. They quoted $3750 for the coil, but recommended I get a new compressor and coil for $11k for a variable speed system.

I am getting a second opinion this weekend, but talking to my neighbors who just replaced their systems with other companies, the prices are about right.

My question is should I just do the coil? Or is my compressor probably about ready to go as well?

I have a 10 year old two speed Lennox system, and the tech said the coil has a leak as it is 3lbs low. They quoted 3750 for the coil replacement,which would include the refrigerant. He also tried to push me to get a newer condenser and coil system with variable speed for 10 grand.

Is that a good price for the coil replacement? Should I just get the full condenser? This is for our downstairs and is doesn’t really run that much, compared to my upper unit.

Seems like it should have much more life in it since it is only 10 years old. The previous one lasted 15 years.

I am planning to get the V porting from wicked arms. Is it worth the extra $250 to get slide milling as well to remove more material from the slide? I already have an optic cut and an SRO in the slide, but I want to get the porting to reduce the muzzle flip. Would it make that much of a difference if I also get the extra milling?

This was in 2018 at an Alfa Romeo dealer. I didn’t think much of it at the time, but having watched YouTube videos of people trying to defraud car dealers it got me wondering if times had changed or if the manager somehow picked up on me being honest.

They did get my license and a screenshot of my insurance for a test drive, but could a bad guy just fake that?

I took delivery late I the day so my bank was closed and I offered to pick it up the next day, but they told me to just take it and work out the financing later, since I said I could just pay cash if the bank gave me troubles.

I just found it weird that they didn’t need a check, cash, or even secured financing before I left. I didn’t sign paperwork for the title and a promise to return the car if financing wasn’t secured i a week, but again if I was a bad guy that wouldn’t matter.

So why didn’t they just wait a day until I got the paperwork from the bank?

I have had really good luck with polishing my lodge classic, and it got me wondering if the main difference between the blacklock and the high end CI was really only the surface and the handle.

If I try out the handle and find it works for me and polish and reseason the blacklock, would a high end ci like field or stargazer or something in that range be all that much better?

The effort to sand and reseason the skillet is really a non issue and honestly is fun to me, so that is not a factor.

Do most males wear jeans and polo? The website and even googling give widely different answers. I know not to wear shorts and tshirt, but are jeans ok? What about nice sneakers? It says to dress like I was going to a job interview, but that would be a suit, which I would like to avoid wearing.

Business casual for me means jeans, sneakers, and polo. But I know lots of places want khakis not jeans, so I don’t know what is commonly worn.

Also, what kind of cases are heard at the George Allen courthouse? I could probably get a few days from work, but going over a couple weeks is going to be a big problem at work.
