What weather reports are you guys using? I have questions.

Do you pull weather reports on every claim? How much time do you spend analyzing the weather for the claim? Are there things lacking that you’re left to go search for on your own?

Do you have a favorite/ least favorite company that provides you reports?

Built a weather reports app!

Not advertising or soliciting, just celebrating and not many people can appreciate it because of how nuanced it is. I’m a former Air Force meteorologist. I built an app and published my first ever iOS app a few days ago and my first MacOS app tonight!

I put in a date (or time window) and a property, and choose if I just want storm dates or a deep meteorological analysis. Storm date report generates in seconds. The full analysis pulls all the relevant data for the storm, and applies deep meteorological reasoning to determine the expected hazard and magnitude at the property, and supports the findings with nearby storm event data. It also scores the level of support for the storm causing damage at the property based on the data.

I feel really, really good. It’s reignited my passion for weather and scratched the itch to always be building something.

Hoping to make a new standard in the industry that can be used by both sides to get to facts faster. Aim high, right?

Hope you all have a good week!!

Dr. Phil weighing in is a good thing. (Serious)

For those who don’t understand why Dr. Phil is voicing his opinion on this, here’s my take, and why I think it’s a great thing:

He is trusted amongst boomers. They are going to have a really hard time accepting a new reality, so seeding their content with trusted public figures talking about disclosure makes it more real for them.

Neil D Tyson was a voice for millennials who may have a hard time believing, but are otherwise inspired by science.

This helps multiple generations overcome the belief gap, and helps us get to accepting a new reality more harmoniously.

😣🤦‍♂️ “I can’t believe you’ve done this?”

Another one down. Easy on the gas when you’re running 40K over your tire life.

Why do light bulbs always burn out around me?

My wife giving a little validity/ credibility to this crazy admission. She’s an attorney- I married way up: https://youtu.be/edYfcTjIMUs?si=hhn9NCmAfKqg-xKA

Since I (45) was 18, I’ve had light bulbs constantly blow around me. It’s followed me from house to house- even hotels. It’s varies from once every couple weeks to 3 times a week. It’s really annoying and expensive.

I don’t know if it’s because I’m so handsome that it just happens, or if it’s paranormal. I’ve tried to troubleshoot it, but it’s a lost cause.

I was an avionics tech in the Air Force for a few years. My boss knew I had this going on. I told him about it when we were sharing stories, and like most people I got the “look;” the one where you look like a big fat liar. Then he witnessed it a couple times while we hung out.

We worked on KC-135’s which are nuclear-hardened. They have small faraday cages called survivability boxes that protect cable termination points in the aircraft from EMP. Because of this, our inspection shops had wands that measured RF/EM leakage. My boss had them wand me down on the flightline. It was funny, but part of the troubleshooting. No dice. No EM leakage from me, sadly.

Half the time it’s when I’m in the room. They’ll flicker and stay on or flicker and burn out. The other half of the time they burn out when I turn them on.

Does anyone have any insight here? I don’t have any psychic or psionic powers that I know of. I am extremely empathic and sensitive to people’s true selves with a strong intuition about people’s motives and character, but I chalk that up to some childhood trauma. I’m a believer of things, but haven’t had personal experience outside of this crazy “superpower” that drains my bank account.
