What if our pre-colonial ancestors independently developed a concept of Motte and Bailey Castle
Alternate Scenario: During the 14th Century, one Tagalog Datu decided to raise the entire land of his own residence, creating a compound where all of his needs are enclosed inside a square enclosure. This began the development of Fortified Maginoo Residence compound composing of the Main House, weaving house or Banquet hall, the grand kitchen, tools workshops and storage sheds. As time goes by, several facilities from other Maginoo Residences are added: Guest Recieving house, Small Altar, Bath house, well and an Out house. It flourished in the late 14th to 15th century making the Residence complex more intricate and well defended. During the arrival of the Spanish, most of the Maginoo Residences called Kota Maginoo are composed of two parts: the Kota Ibaba or the Lower Fort, where the old residential complex of the noble Maginoo that turned into a functioning small town inside supplying the upper fortress called the Kota Itaas or the raised Fortress where the Lord of the realm or the Maginoo and his Family lives.
I took inspiration from the Bali Courtyard house, bahay kubo, the Japanese Castle, Maranao Torogan, and the European Motte and Bailey castle.
