Do birthdays affect anything between our world and the afterlife?

My father passed away back in march and its his birthday tomorrow. I'm wondering if his birthday can affect anything between us and the afterlife? Can he communicate through signs more easily today or just have an easier time having a prescence here. I'm not expecting him to show up as a ghost randomly (even though I wish he would lol) but I'm hoping he gives us something to show us his prescence.

How could science ever explain something like mediums?

Just want to start this off by saying I do believe in mediums. (credible ones not the ones who scam people)

I'm lucky enough to have found a real medium that has helped give me messages from my deceased father. She knew my mother on a purely business relationship and only knew that she had a husband, 2 kids, and our ages. She knew no real details about our family other than extremely surface level information. It wasn't until my dad died that her and my mom got into contact again and she revealed she had this gift of being able to communicate with deceased people. She gave us messages from him that were things only me and my family knew and she described his personality perfectly. She's also knows things that are happening to us currently which she has no way of knowing unless there was someome watching over my family from beyond the veil of death. How could science ever explain or disprove something like this. Materalistic science likes to attribute all experiences with the afterlife to malfunctioning brains, but how would it explain something like this? How could it explain these experiences that provide her with true information she otherwise wouldn't? I went on a bit of a rant there but I just had to share my thoughts with you guys.

Anyone feel crazy at times for believing in an afterlife?

I'm not yet a 100% believer in the afterlife I still have some doubts, but I would say for the most part I do believe in something after death. The experiences I've had while not many do point me towards believing in something beyond our life on this earth. But I can't help but feel crazy at times for believing in this. Once in a while I'll find a bunch of people calling anyone who believes in this naive, dumb, or just coping with this cessation of consciousness they so strongly believe. It'll plant a lot of doubt in me for a good bit but I then stabilize and it goes away for the most part. But sometimes I just can't help but wonder if I really am going crazy. Just wanted to know if any of you have felt the same.

How do you deal with doubt about spirituality?

I'm very new to this whole spirituality thing with myself only having gotten into this a few months ago. I've been reading up a lot about this and the various views people have but I can't help but have a good amount of doubt regarding all this. Some days I'll feel really spiritual and believe wholeheartedly in this, but on others I feel like I'm just using this as a coping mechanism. How do you guys deal with this doubt and reinforce your belief?

What made you guys believe in the afterlife?

I wanted to know what has made you guys believe in the afterlife. I'm currently experiencing some doubt even though I've experienced stuff that should make me believe. My brains just keeps defaulting to any logical explanation that could disprove these occurrences. I wanted to know what got you guys to start believing in the afterlife, or what made you confident in that belief.

Potential sign from my deceased father?

My father passed away a few months ago and one of his favorite movied was guardians of the galaxy vol. 2. He loved that movie and it had a bunch of his favorite songs, many of which we played at his funeral. In the time since his death I feel like that movie has been constantly been on tv very often. Its been on at least twice a week and before this we would rarely see it on the tv. Just wondering if this could be a sign from my father.

Why are people so quick to dismiss spirituality and spiritual experiences as just something crazy and naive to believe in?

I've recently begun my spiritual journey after the passing of my father. That event completely shattered my world view and it felt like I had woken up from being on auto pilot. I began researching stuff like the afterlife, spirits, energy, and other peoples spiritual views. However, the deeper I went researching the more people I found who were so quick to dismiss all these viewpoints and beliefs as coping mechanisms and something only to find meaning in the meaningless. I'm just left wondering why so many people are so quick to dismiss any other belief that doesn't fit with their bleak outlook on what consists of life and this experience. It sows doubt within me that leads me down a spiral of anxiety about whether I'm wrong and if there really is nothing special to this existence. It just feels really disheartening to see people dismiss spirituality as nothing but being naive if it doesn't fit their views on life.

Does anyone else's belief in the afterlife also fluctuate often?

My dad passed away this year and with the experiences I've had since then I've been leaning heavily towards the existence of an afterlife rather than death being the end. That being said I've also been struggling to cement my belief in the afterlife and I find myself seriously doubting it some days, but also believing in it fully on others. Before this year I was I neutral on the topic but I would lean slightly towards the existence of an afterlife. I wanted to know if some of you guys have experienced this and how you guys deal with it.

Anyone have trouble truly believing in an afterlife?

My dad recently passed away this year and I've been thinking a lot about the afterlife and whether I believe in it. Before this I hadnt really thought about it but I was always mostly neutral about the topic but leaning towards the existence of one. But recently I have had many experiences and things happen that give me evidence and belief towards the existence of an afterlife. But for some reason I'm not able to fully accept it and I keep having this lingering doubt I'm unable to get rid of. I wanted to know if anyone else has felt this way and what you did to alleviate that doubt.

91 days without my dad

my dad passed away on march 2nd 2026 and its been agony ever since. he was an amazing man and im heartbroken i only had 15 short years with him. he died of a heart attack and i had to see his dying body (or dead already? im not sure) on the ground with my mother doing cpr on him. not a day goes by without thinking if we couldve saved him if we just were faster. ive always struggled with staying happy and having a reason to live but now i see no point in going on. im not suicidal or anything but i just dont see point in anything anymore. i just cant handle the fact im never going to see him again. i love you so much dad and i miss you so fucking much

anxiety manifesting as mild chest tightness and mild shortness of breath?

ive recently been experiencing some mild shortness of breath and mild chest tightness. I only really notice it start once i begin to think about them and it usually goes away/gets better when i relax and think about something else. This started after i had begun to worry my chest soreness could be a heart related issue a few days ago and since then the symptoms started. My dad recently passed away due a heart attack so this is probably the reason for my new found anxiety regarding heart issues. im almost 90% sure what im feeling is anxiety caused because the shortness of breath and chest tightness both start when i start to think and worry about it and they both get better as i begin to relax, but i just wanted to ask and see if this is something anxiety can cause.

Anxiety causing shortness of breath?

So I've been experiencing a mild shortness of breath starting last night and continuing today that only really manifests once I start thinking about it. Last night I had a pretty intense chest workout and my chest started to feel sore. I noticed I was taking deeper breaths than normal and that combined with the soreness in my chest somehow led me to believe it could be symptoms of a heart issue. And so I couldn't stop thinking about it and it led me to constantly focus on my breathing and whether it was more than usual which led me to constantly be taking deep breaths. I was wondering whether this could be anxiety causing it as I haven't had any heart issues and I have no other symptoms but the mild shortness of breath. I only noticed once I start thinking about, whenever I'm focused on something else I feel completely normal save for the standard soreness in my chest. Something to note is that my father recently passed away about 2 months ago due to a heart attack so it could be where this newfound anxiety is stemming from. I just want to know if this mild shortness of breath could be due to my anxiety over heart issues?
