With Massdrop as we know it now gone, it is a good opportunity to look back into some of their creations and with the HongShu Audio EH1 bringing spot light to the “affordable” electrostatic headphone segment, it seems to be a good topic to start of a video series about different headphone’s stories

I am planning to make more longer “documentary” videos like this, so any feedback would help especially in the editing and in the writing, I am constantly trying to improve it and as I finished this video, I already have some better ideas of how to manage the work flow of filing, writing and editing.

please correct me if I got any of the information wrong regarding this headphone and any of the technical details.

Hi, I’ve bought a used Alienware Aurura R15 a year or so ago CPU and GPU not included so I bought myself a second hand 3080 and a new i7 13700k.

While overall the computer performs a great, the AIO and the fans have no problem I can’t seem to get it to have all core boost speed more than 4.1 or 4.2 GHz while gaming, Cinebench R24, ThrottleStop’s own test, so it scores low in benchmarks.

While based on my research the 13700k should get all core boost speed of around 4.8Ghz, I’m fine with my computer’s current performance, but I’m just wondering why doesn’t it go higher, especially when it’s not thermally limited.

Could it be the bios limits it’s all core boost speed to prevent degradation?

I have enabled OC1 in bios, and set to performance mode in AWCC during these test, tho most of the time I use balenced mode in AWCC during normal use

Any help appreciated?

Hi all, this is a review of the Juzear x VD Fiesta IEM after using it for around 2 or so weeks, including taking it with me on my commute.

Full disclosure, HiFiGo did send me these for review, but they did not tell me what to say and I am not being paid for this review. This is just my own experience with it.

The Fiesta is a 1DD + 3BA hybrid, and the headline of this IEM is pretty simple: bass. This is a bassy and warm sounding IEM, and compared to a lot of the more neutral/JM1-ish tuning this is definitely something a little more fun.

On to the most important bit, how does it sound?

It sounds good, and most importantly, fun. There is a pretty substantial bass boost that gives music a lot of thump, body and warmth. I wouldn't describe the bass as particularly fast or super tight, but it is very satisfying.

What surprised me is that despite having this much bass, the mids are still pretty sensible. The bass doesn't rise too far into the midrange, so vocals and instruments don't become overly muddy. There is a little extra energy around 1-2kHz, but it isn't enough for me to find it shouty.

The treble is on the smoother and slightly darker side to my ears. There isn't a whole lot of sparkle, especially compared to something like the Binary Acoustics EP321 MEMS that I was listening to before this. Because of that, perceived detail can seem a little lower, but it also makes the Fiesta very easy to listen to for long periods.

The best way I can describe the overall tuning is that this is the hot chocolate of IEMs. It's warm, sweet and comfortable. You're not sitting there analyzing every tiny detail trying to pick apart flavor notes of wine, you're sitting on a big couch drinking some hot chocolate and just having a good time.

If you normally take a neutral IEM and add a big bass shelf with EQ, this basically gives you that from the factory.

Accessories:

You get a nice faux leather carrying case, a regular cable with a microphone, a separate 4.4mm balanced cable, and a bunch of different ear tips including silicone and foam tips. Overall, it's a pretty solid accessory package.

Build and Comfort:

The shells are pretty chunky and noticeably thicker than some smaller IEMs, but they fit my ears surprisingly well. I've worn them for close to two hours while commuting without any real comfort problems.

Isolation with the normal silicone tips is only okay though. On the train I could still hear quite a bit around me, but switching to foam tips helps significantly.

The shells themselves also look great, with a red holographic/glittery faceplate, and I really like the black and orange braided cable. In sunlight the orange strands almost look like they're glowing.

TLDR:

At around $130, I think this sits in a pretty good price-to-performance range. It's not trying to be a neutral or reference IEM, and I don't think it should be.

If you already have a bunch of sensibly tuned IEMs and want something more fun, or you're coming from bassier consumer headphones from brands like Sony or Bose and want something familiar, I think the Fiesta makes a lot of sense.

It's bassy, warm, smooth, slightly dark, and just really easy to enjoy.

Ok I remember seeing a thumbnail or image of either crinacle or one of the headphones show guys wearing 3 headphones at once on their head, I am trying to find that and use it as a reference image to draw my own character for my YouTube channel, does anyone remember or have a screenshot of it?

This is a Quick Impression of the New Pula Audio ARC, I go into a bit more detail of my initial impression of it in the video, but here is the gist of it.

Some Technical Specifications: Single 10 DD, 2pin iem cable terminates into single ended 3.5mm (pretty standard stuff), Textured aluminum faceplate and resin chassis, a 3 sizes of ear tips

The IEM physically felt well built, light weight and very comfortable, I have used this on a long 2ish hour remote meeting with this iem, and there are nearly zero fatigue, it stays in your ear very well and comfortable, I think fit wise you can likely go for a jog with it and it wont fall off, overall this iem have a fairly compact shell, that is great for long listening session.

Sound quality wise, it is a neutrally tuned iem, no large bass boosts, or funky treble (at least to my ears), vocals are clear, bass are solid, just a well balanced do it all kind of iem.

This iem should be priced at or around $20 usd, and will be released July 27, 2026

Hi This is a long over due Project of mine, I got bored last winter and so I have actually built this headphone, and built it however it just took longer tuning it than I thought it would be due to life happening. Sorry if the Video is a bit too quiet.

To do this mod you would have to disassemble the earcups of the AKG and desolder the wires on the Koss than you essentially swap out the driver of the of the AKG and inset the Koss as it is into the headphone, no Kramer mod (I don't trust myself to not just stab through the Koss driver), and you would keep the Koss foam in it too, one thing to note is that you would have to use a soldering iron to melt or something to trim down the 3 and 9 o'clock position so the internal mechanism of the AKG's hinge can actually fit back in.

The Sound without the tuning foam the treble is too sharp, and the foam helps with taming that, it also sound too bloated with the Velour pad, thats why I went with the Micro Sueded pads. overall the headphone sound very tactile (a bit too tactile sometimes), and overall on the leaner bass side with just a little bit of upper bass warmth. imaging is a bit meh for gaming but fine for music listening.

Say you have $45k to spend, instead of buying a new old reliable Lexus/toyota, why not spend say half the money of something that so more fun more entertaining and objectively better used German / JDM sports cars, for $30k, than save the remaining $15k for any repairs and maintenance down the line (air suspension, rod bearings, headbolts, ims bearings, or Vanos rebuild and etc).

Plus driving a slightly used luxury cars as shallow as this seems, to the layman you get a little more “respect”, it made you look rich

I have a 2002 S600 with the 5.8L V12, and recently it have developed some misfire codes, of course given it is the entire Left bank of cylinders I would assume it is a bad coil pack and I ordered a refurb one form Ebay after I installed them the car ran fine for 5 minutes, than these codes come back again and the car misfires. so this got me thinking maybe its not the coils could it be a bad fuse? That is why I started investigating the fuse box and looking up fuse diagrams.

Additionally some extra explanation of why I didn't immediately think its the spark plugs is becuase I have changed the spark plugs maybe like 20kmiles or 5 or so years ago. And I don't think it is the Voltage regulator/supply module's fault as that one have been replaced by dealer a couple years back as well.
