70% of this game's PVP is fixed by adding diminishing returns

Players shouldn't be able to get 30000000 movement speed or 5000 damage just off rip. The game has a terribly unhealthy meta with backhits that enforces high speed high apm builds as the best because there aren't any defensive options. You just get absolutely destroyed because the numbers are more inflated than a DeviantArt page while they fish for largely unreactable sequences that IGNORE your defense.

Tone everything down. The combat is horribly volatile when it needs to be methodical. People can get too much ether/regen and cast too many mantras. People can get too much damage and deal 50% of your health for missing a singular parry on an Eruption Flame Blade and you get true UNVENTABLE combo'd into sightless beam. People can get so fast that you have to track like it's an FPS game just to not die. If we wanted to get really serious, then in actual fighting games you have damage scaling to prevent combos from just annihilating you. Almost every issue that people have with PVP comes from some number being too high.

The other 30% is from removing shaky block btw. The punishment for getting hit should be losing hp. It makes no sense to punish the loser for losing. Being in disadvantage is the punishment.

edit: I wrote adding but I meant enforcing

Duke's Binding Tempest is terrible game design

This move genuinely does not work.

It's terribly indicated, shares a windup animation with a move you need to react to and parry immediately, goes through your block, and 80% of the time its unrollable because the tracking will make it whiff and then circle back around to get you after blocking.

If you have the slightest amount of visual delay going on you genuinely can't see him rise up and react in a reasonable amount of time.

This move should just be a hitscan/raycast with a parry indicator. The way its currently implemented makes it borderline RNG as to whether you can actually dodge it. Again, your only reliable defensive option against it will sometimes just not work because you'll dodge it but not deactivate it and it will re-track you.

The only times I've died to Duke are when this move isn't working properly.

Remove or fix it, it sucks in its current form.

Also make it so you respawn outside Duke's manor, the sailback on death is atrocious.

Plushtrap ignoring beartraps in <spoiler>'s night.

Anyone else running into this issue? My friend is playing through Salvage's night and he had two beartraps yet plushtrap ignored both of them and killed him immediately after being spawned in. If it means anything, he's running the game through proton on linux Manjaro.

What does BV's death even mean for the story?

Hopefully this is just a simple question where I'm just forgetting details.

I'm struggling to think about what BV's death contributes to the overarching narrative of FNAF. As far as I can see, at most they're a "dual spirit" situation that kind of just does nothing and either gets resolved or is TOYSNHK for some reason. My initial assumption is that "His death makes William go into the remnant experiments and such", but... why? William has no reason to believe that possession exists until Elizabeth is caught by Baby iirc. It's not like BV's death was that special, he didn't start walking around as Fredbear or anything, they just decommissioned the suit for being dangerous/marketing reasons. As far as I can think of, BV is just a plot device to give Mike motivation/trauma since FNAF 4 is supposedly Michael's nightmares/William's torture chamber and not something BV actually went through.

Running into a bug while trying to play online with my friend.

I can't choose any workshop chars but he can. They all load fine for him but if I try to choose them I get an error saying the opponent's character version doesn't match mine.

The only thing I can think of is that he's on Linux and I'm on Windows.
