How to transition from House to Senate
Currently interning on the House side but the goal is to transition into the Senate side either on another internship or an entry-level job as SA. Any tips or experiences/success stories?

Bf and I have been together about 7-8 months now. We started out medium distance and lived 2hrs from each other, but we take turns visiting and spending the night sometimes. He had to move for work in another state but he would make it a point to drive long hours and see me. He’s currently out for about 3 months for a work thing and we can’t call or facetime like we usually do.
I know he’s been super busy lately but he did tell me beforehand that communication will be limited (even with his family) and he’d text me sometimes to let me know he’s okay. I haven’t seen him in over a month already but I know we’re spending time together again when he gets back. The last I heard from him was last week when he reached out first and asked how I was doing, told me what he was up to at the time, and asked about a big life update I was up to recently. I engaged with the conversation but didn’t hear back from him since. It’s already been a whole week, and I left some texts throughout the week just asking if he’s okay/safe. I get that he’s super busy and maybe overwhelmed but it takes less than a minute to tell me you’re okay.
I do wanna focus on the bigger picture: his consistency and effort to see me long distance over the past 7-8 months, calling whenever he could, even making it a point to see me when inconvenient. I have confidence in him that he wouldn’t cheat (he knows I’ve been cheated on in the past), and I trust he’s a good guy. But this silence has honestly been bothering me. I know it’s just because of this work thing but it’s already the weekend and he usually lets me know how he is by the weekend.
I don’t wanna send him anymore texts and just wanna let him come back to me on his own. Should I be worried? Why is he being silent?
Haven’t seen my bf in over a month (and 2 more months to come) since he’s away for work. By the time we’re together again, we haven’t had sex in 4 months and it’s honestly something I’ve been anticipating a lot when he comes back. Any ideas to spice things up after 4 months of no sex? Besides wearing a new lingerie set since I already have that in mind lol
Especially for couples who don’t get to see each other for weeks/months, what’s something that reminds you it’s worth it? What makes you stay and keep choosing to be with your partner despite the distance?
My bf and I first started dating medium-distance (3hr roundtrip drive from each other) until he had to move out of state for work. We’ve been long distance for about 8 months now and we’ll soon finally be living in the same area again since I’m moving for work. Our dates have always been weeks apart because of the distance, and we take turns visiting each other. He always puts in the effort to come by whenever he can, even if it’s just coming to see me for an hour and a half when he travels for work. We’ll finally be closing the gap soon and I know some say that long distance relationships can create a false sense of depth when you’re apart, and you only discover issues later on when you finally close the gap. Even if we’ve been dating 8 months, we’re still getting to know each other more and now we can finally see each other more frequently. Any tips/advice on continuing the relationship better and getting to know them more after closing the gap?
Bf and I are both in our mid-20s. He came from a non-affectionate household so I understand (and he’s pointed it out himself) that he’s not as touchy feely in general. I grew up in a family where being affectionate/showing care is the norm. I understand we both came from different upbringings and I know he’s always been responsive with me being affectionate towards him (holding hands, kisses, me playing with his hair while he’s driving, words of affirmations, etc) but he’s always just been passive/responsive and not really initiate it.
Right now, we’re in long distance (temporarily) so we can’t be physically affectionate and I do want him to make up for it. Sometimes I feel like I’m too affectionate towards him even if I know that he cares about me, he’s just not as vocal about it as I am but it’d be nice to hear it sometimes. What should I do?
How do I (f) get my long distance partner (m) to communicate better while we’re not physically together?
We started out as medium distance since we lived in the same state, different city but he had to move out of state for work. We’ve been able to handle distance since we started dating and would take turns visiting each other when we lived in the same state, but now he’s started working at his new job and we won’t be able to see each other for a few months and can’t facetime or call while he’s away. I do tell him to send me pics sometimes and he’s been responsive, also asking me how I am and making conversation through text. But sometimes I’m a little more affectionate than usual (saying I miss him, etc) and he’s always just been this calm guy who’s not as touchy feely (but he is in person), and I just want to feel like it’s mutual even if I know he cares for me a lot, he’s just not as vocal about it as much as I am. I know we have different love languages and all, but with the current—but temporary—long distance, I do want him to be more reassuring in words sometimes.
What do I do?
I’m also moving to his state in a month or two for work, so we’ll be together again soon.
My boyfriend is a really great guy (by far my healthiest relationship). We’re currently long distance but will be living closer soon and we have sex every time we’re together. He’s a lot more affectionate in person than when we’re apart (in text/facetime).
I’m more physically affectionate and experimental, especially in sex. I like dirty talk and trying things we’ve never done before. He said he likes being dominant most of the time but in reality, I’m the one leading in bed. I do tell him I want him to take control and he responds well when I ask him to. Whenever we both orgasm, he still kisses me and asks if I’m okay but sometimes I want him to hold me closer, kiss me slower/longer, and just be more affectionate. I get that we both need to clean up after and use the bathroom (he always lets me use it first as I have to pee after sex) but how do I ask him to be more affectionate during/right after orgasm? Do I say it before/after we have sex?
Context: I got cheated on in my last relationship and my current boyfriend knows I’m very sensitive with intimacy. He knows my last ex made me feel used, but I know my boyfriend would never want me to feel that way—and he doesn’t do that. I guess I just want him to be more affectionate.
I (24f) haven’t dated a lot of people, and there’s always at 1-2yr gap in between my relationships to take some time off for myself and process a breakup. My last ex cheated on me (he was talking to and meeting up with other girls from dating apps), and I really had to heal from what he did. I couldn’t even bring myself to think of dating or being intimate with anyone after that breakup for over a year.
Then I met my current boyfriend, and he’s a really good person. Of course we talked about our past relationships and he knows about my ex and how sensitive I am with dishonesty/disloyalty. I haven’t dated anyone for a whole year after my last ex, so when I started dating my now boyfriend, I made sure I was ready. And I am.
But sometimes, I can’t help but be reminded of what happened the last time I trusted someone and got betrayed. It’s like the body remembers when you’re in a new relationship again, even if your mind knows this is a completely different person. It’s like cognitive dissonance (and I hate my ex for making me feel like this and viewing relationships more meticulously).
I’m a lot more careful now, and my boyfriend understands where I’m coming from when I have (rare) moments when I ask him for reassurance that I wouldn’t want him to hurt me like that. He’s been very patient and kind to me and I appreciate it a lot. I always say that I trust him. Right now, we’re in long distance because of his work and we won’t be able to see each other (or ft like we usually do) for a few months. We’re seeing each other when he gets back, so that’s something to look forward to. How do I refrain from questioning my boyfriend’s loyalty? I know he’d never do something like that to me, I just hate how I sometimes remember the feeling of getting cheated on in my last relationship.
Context: I met my last ex and my current boyfriend on a dating app. Of course my boyfriend and I deleted our profiles/the app when we got together, but even if I know that, I sometimes wonder if he’d download it while he’s away right now (out of curiosity or idk). My last ex went back on the dating app while we were already together, so my distrust comes from that.
