I have recently ran into a wall and I am not knowledgeable enough to solve the issue and neither are the people I am talking to.

For about 6 months I have been using Spectrum internet with a Nighthawk 7 router. A couple days ago I noticed my online games stopped working on my PS5 or worked intermittently. I changed every setting known to myself in the router, opened ports, dmz, alg, changed NAT, set to public dns, changed frequencies. Went hard wired straight to the modem. Nothing fixed the problem. No other symptom throughout the house. Tablets, laptops, CPU, VPNs, heck even the Ps5 worked completely except this one thing. I then connected to my phones mobile Hotspot. It was fixed completely. No more infinite loading. No more black screens.

I call Spectrum they say its my router they will send out a tech. He replaces a bad line, replaces the modem, sets up a new router. Nothing works for hours until a 2nd tech opens port 3074. Everything appears to work, strange I opened that same port. As I dig in after they leave I find its barely fixed, actual peer to peer is still broken with non stop loading and freezing. I connect my old router, it still works. I start messing with settings since the new spectrum routers dont let you adjust very much. The problem instantly comes back.

Im confused how it works with a router but not without. So mobile Hotspot works fine. Old modem alone doesnt work. Old modem old router doesnt work. New modem doesn't work. New modem old router doesn't work. New modem new router, half way works.

What am I missing? This has gotten way too deep for me and everyone i talk to seems to know as much or less than me. I change 1 variable, the internet provider and everything work fully.
