I'm new to the show world and just got my first flatcoated retriever show prospect. I love her so much and she's doing really well in most of her training but I have no clue how to even start the free stack. I'm having a hard time finding any information about it online.

I'm a groomer of 2 years and bought my first show prospect puppy a 6 month old flatcoated retriever. I'm looking for better shampoo than what my salon carries and I hear good things about plush puppy but do those who use it think it's worth the price?

Any flattie owners who show their dogs? I just got my flattie show prospect and I know their grooming is minimal but I can't find any good videos showing me exactly what I should be doing.

I also have a standard poodle with a chicken allergy so novel proteins would be deeply appreciated for decent prices.

I got my puppy on Saturday and it's now Thursday. I know it's a big change. I know potty regression is common when a new puppy comes home. I know crate training can regress when puppy's come into new homes. I she is just a baby.

But I take her out every hour when she's awake. Shes crated or in an exercise pen when I can't watch her. She still is having one or two accidents a day. I keep hearing about people who get their 8 week old puppy and have zero accidents ever and I'm just feeling frustrated or like I'm not doing enough. It doesn't help that I'm so tired from her crying in the kennel at night. She wakes me up several times in the night. I'll take her out and she does pee and I'm glad she wakes me up instead of peeing in her kennel I'm just feeling the puppy blues

My 4 year old standard poodle has been an only dog his whole life but I do babysit and interact with many dogs of different gender size and temperment.

Last night I brought home my five month old flatcoated retriever show prospect puppy and I'm so in love with her. She's everything I wanted in a puppy. The problem being monster seems to be really struggling. Outside they get along great monster tries to play with her. The walk around together no problems. In the house is another story. Monster is resource guarding us from her. He snarls and makes a lot of noise and movement. He can't stop posturing around her in the house. I'm just not a hundred percent sure what to do. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Does anyone have experience with this kennel? I might have the opportunity to take home one of their 5 month old show prospects.

I don't know if this is the right subreddit for this but I can't think of another one. I have been on a wait-list for a welsh springer spaniel for awhile but at a dog show today I met a breeder who is friends with my mentor who breeds flat coated retrievers. She has a 5 month old puppy shes looking at placing in a show home. Both breeds have been on my radar for awhile and I think I would really enjoy both breeds. My fears lie on getting a 5 month old instead of an 8 week old. Is it going to be harder to bond with the puppy? I had so many plans as to how I was going to bond and socialize with my welshie when I got it like getting a wagon for pre vaccine socialization, a strict training schedule, hand feeding all meals.

I'm scared I'm going to regret getting an older puppy what has been your guys experience getting an older puppy?

I just put in 2 applications for two different welsh springer spaniel breeder Cryslen and rolyarts I'm so worried my applications will be turned down which is crazy because there is no real reason for this. I'm a 21 year old dog groomer looking to get into the show and sports world.

Does anyone have any experiences with this breeder? I filled out their application and was accepted to get on their wait-list but I was wondering if anyone had any experience with them and how that went?

I'm on a waitlist to get my welsh springer spaniel puppy and starting to collect supplies for her so I don't have to spend so much money at once. If anyone uses ruffland car kennels for their welsh what size fits best?

This evening I (21 f) went on a walk with my standard poodle Monster and the two dogs I'm currently babysitting. During this walk a cattle dog came up behind me and attacked the dogs. Monster took the worst of it and he doesn't have any punctures thank goodness.

Now this is the third time this dog has left his yard to attack me and Monster. So I called around a little bit seeing what I should do. After talking to my town's dog catcher at her advice I called the county sheriffs department and reported the attack.

Not thirty minutes later a truck is pulling into my driveway. I answered the door and the man instantly started talking to my grandma who was standing 10 feet behind me holding Monster back because he gets excited when someone is at the door. That upset me because I am a grown adult and can discuss this with him. He apologized for his dog attacking us and asking if Monster was okay before saying."You know we are neighbors when this happens again just come talk to me instead of calling the cops".

Part of me feels like an asshole for making the report. This but I don't want my dog or anyone else's dogs getting hurt. Was I an asshole for making the report?

I think I've decided welshies are the breed for me! So now starts the hunt for the right breeder. Im in Wisconsin but am willing to travel to basically anywhere

Im looking for the perfect breed for my show and sport prospect. Welsh springers have recently made their way on to the list. Please give me the good the bad and the ugly about this breed.
