Good candidate for SMP? Could I rock a 2 guard buzz with SMP and make it look legit?

Hey M22, looking into maybe doing SMP in the future if I can’t get regrowth for my DUPA condition.. I don’t mind the 2 guard buzz but I hate how the density is bad so there’s so many bald spots showing and it looks horrible in the sunlight.. I was wondering if I could get SMP and rock a 2 guard buzz or 1 guard at lowest and be able to make it look like I have a legit full buzz almost.. Thanks.

Buzz cut due to diffuse thinning

Yo M22, have already posted twice with a #5 and #2. Here is the #1, I prefer the 2 I think as the darker black hairs look nice to me and the 1 feels more bald. What do yall think? Thanks again.

I have seb derm, wondering what that red spot is and why it’s so prominent only there..

Hey guys, got a 5 guard buzz cut because I was balding from AGA (and prob seb derm) and noticed that huge red spot and always see people on here talking about how that’s seb derm.. but my question is what does it signify and why is it only in that spot mainly, was there a ton of flakes there or something?

Can this be saved?

Derm said it wasn’t even moderate hair loss and I shouldn’t fully worry til I’m like 50… is she dumb or is she doing that to make me feel better? She prescribed topical min and I’m gonna do fin as well. I also have chronic telogen and seb derm, crown has been gone since like 2023 and have just been running long hair since then. Got really bad recently and am just doing a high top.. likely gonna do topical min and fin and maybe switch to oral or foam or spray if it worsens seb derm.

More so looking for answers on if you guys think I should just shave it off or if you think there’s enough hair to actually thicken it up and just run high tops for the rest of my life lol

Is this still salvageable?

Derm doesn’t even think it’s moderate hair loss.. I’m so confused because I know this is pretty severe as the crown has been open for 3 years and I’ve just been doing high tops or long hair to cover but it recently got to a point where even that is see through. Gonna likely do topical min and topical fin or maybe oral fin.

Any advice on the beard/mustache

Ignore the hair, probably gonna have to shave that off soon lol so the beard is becoming important to me.

Any advice on how to shape the beard, let it grow or trim, how to fill gaps, etc. recently switched to a one blade razor for the neck and cheeks as the three blade was causing ingrown hairs on the neck

Is this salvageable?

Diffuse thinning started 2021, crown gone by 2023.. Pretty much at the end point but wondering if it’s salvageable, I also have chronic TE and seb derm.

Is it over?

Crown thinning and diffuse thinning started in 2021. 2026 now and even when my hair is extremely long, everything is see through. Derm said I had AGA and chronic TE (either from seb derm, vitamin d deficiency, SIBO or all)… I’m wondering if it’s even worth it to do fin and min, derm prescribed min and will prescribe fin later on but obviously they’re just trying to make money. I’ll try and tackle the other things but I want to get your guys take on it

Would fin and min simply just thicken what I have at best, I’ve been thinning for 7+ years.

I know I’ve posted here a lot but I’m just trying to get an understanding of how all this stuff works. Because if my hair just simply thickens this and I have to have it slicked back like this, I feel like it’s not worth it..

Will hair continue to thin overtime anyways? I don’t know just any info that I can get would be great

What does side hair thinning mean? Is that also AGA?

Been balding since like 17, M22 now. I’m just wondering because most people seem to have their crown gone and the surrounding hair is usually fine, for me the top is cooked but I’m realizing even the sides and back is thinner than they should be, is that from my dandruff/stomach issues/nutrient issues maybe?

u/UpperLibrary5503 — 5 months ago

How severe is this truly?

crown bladed at 17 or 18 like that and all my hair has been thinning ever since (22 now). Anyone know what g of min/min would I likely need and oral vs topical. Is this even worth saving etc? Anything helps

u/UpperLibrary5503 — 5 months ago

Is fin/min my only chance realistically?

Is there anything else I can do? I definitely am deficient in vitamins and stress a ton but this has slowly happened for the last 6 years, M22. Is there anyway way I can do topical min and then something other than fin?

How bad is it?

I’ve had this going on for 4-5 years. I never realized how bad it truly was cuz I slicked my hair back. Are there no follicles in that bald spot area? How does any of this work? What do I need to be on etc.

Thanks

M22, how bad is it?

Is this fixable, what would I need? Finasteride and minoxidil? How bad is it? Thanks

M22 am I balding?

I’ve noticed since I was a junior in High school that my crown was very visible (although I don’t know if it was always like that and I just never noticed) and over the years I’ve noticed my scalp in general is pretty visible but I have long hair and it grows super super fast so I don’t really know. Is it low density or am I balding? The first 2 pics were from high school. Another pic is also when wet.

What jobs should I seek?

Hi, I am currently a Junior pursuing a degree in Business Administration at Uoregon with a 2.6 GPA and don’t really have any actual hard skills. What jobs should I look for? Right now I’m thinking I’m gonna end up working as like an admin assistant at best but I don’t even have experience outside of being a sports facility supervisor (which I can frame as operations) and an intramural official. My dad is a branch manager so maybe I can try and get into retail banking but is there anything else I’m not thinking of?

I’ve seen some management trainee programs at like enterprise that are probably possible but I don’t know. I want something where I can actually build off of and “catch up” so I feel like retail banking could be a play because maybe I can move into back office or even become a financial advisor someday. I just don’t know of many potential jobs I should apply for when I graduate. Thanks in advance for responses.
