Beverly Hills Opts Out of D Line/La Cienega Bus Lanes (Green Portion)

At today's WSCCOG meeting Beverly Hills announced that they will not be implementing the bus only lanes on La Cienega Boulevard within their city limits (the green portion of the map) that runs from Clifton Way south to Olympic Boulevard despite them still being built in West Hollywood, Los Angeles and Culver City.

The proposed improvements would bring bus only lanes, transit signal priority and queue jumps to La Cienega Boulevard La Metro Route #105 stretching from Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood south the D Line at La Cienega/Wilshire in Beverly Hills and further south to the E Line La Cienega Station in Culver City.

City staff didn't even bring the item to city council to vote on and per the council rep at today's meeting that decision was based on the fact the the one community meeting they held for it in Beverly Hills (out of 6 meetings total) didn't have enough attendance to warrant the implementation for the lanes despite the corridor recieving the most feedback out of any of the others for this project especially because it would have also provided a direct bicycle connection to West Hollywood as well.

WeHo City Council Candidate Brags About Fundraising But Omits $25k came from himself as a loan.

Kyle Brazeal posted about having the highest percentage of local donations but the majority of said donations ($25,000 per Form 460) came from himself and not actual supporters.

WeHo City Council Requests More Metro 105 Busses

As part of the WSCOGG Westside Bus Improvement project La Cienega Boulevard between Washington Boulevard and Santa Monica Boulevard are getting bus only lanes and transit signal priority equipment! This will help train passengers at the La Cienega D Line and E line stations reach WeHo quicker.

As part of the approval the WeHo city council is requesting LA METRO increased the headways of line 105 from 10 minutes to 7.5 minutes. A few people on and around the council don’t seem to think that matters but let me tell you that most days the busses do not come every 10 or even 20 minutes longer due to bus bunching and other delays. Yesterday I had to wait over 20 minutes for a bus which doubled my entire commute. Metro running more busses that wont get stuck in traffic will be a game changer!

Excited for this project to be built next year and open in 2028 in time for the Olympics!

SURVEY: Westside Bus Improvement Project (La Cienega Blvd, Sepulveda Blvd & Santa Monica Blvd)

The Westside Cities Council of Governments (WSCCOG) is developing designs to enhance the bus rider experience along three of the busiest Westside transit corridors:

  • Santa Monica Boulevard (west of Beverly Hills)
  • Sepulveda Boulevard (between UCLA and Westchester)
  • La Cienega & Jefferson Boulevards (West Hollywood to Culver City)

These corridors could provide key transit connections ahead of the 2028 Olympics, and provide access to jobs, schools, hospitals, and major destinations across the Westside. The Westside Bus Connection Project aims to make bus travel faster, safer, and more reliable through targeted improvements. Your input will help ensure that final design decisions reflect the community’s needs!

Is anyone else extremely worried about this? Can things turn around after midterms perhaps?
