What happened to the old TV show format?

What happened to the old TV shows format? I really miss when shows used to have like 8 or 9 seasons and 13+ episodes each season...this was the best era of TV shows and I think this is why new shows suck as well...

First off, every single new TV show always ends in their 5th season for some reason, now I get it...for some shows it might start to feel like a drag but if you have more interesting stories to tell then please do.

The current 8 episode format of almost every show airing right now really hurts it's quality because 8 episodes isn't much to end a whole arc or plotline without it feeling rushed...obviously Stranger Things was the biggest victim of this...it doesn't matter if they made every episode over 2 hours, the final episode still felt super rushed and people compare it's ending to the ending of GOT...because they didn't have many episodes...and right now, The Boys is suffering from that too, I wouldn't call season 5 bad but it really hasn't felt like it is the final season...if they had more episodes like 13 or 16, all this build-up would be completely acceptable but look at what happened, they have so many plotpoints they need to address in this final episode alone...

I really wonder why people don't make shows the way they used to be...it was always the better way.

Posting this here because they aren't allowing me to post it in the movies page

Unpopular Opinion (Daredevil)

Unpopular opinion but I actually prefer Jessica's chemistry with Matt over her chemistry with Luke...now obviously I don't want them to be a couple (I am a Matt and Elektra truther) but their banter and chemistry was way more entertaining and interesting than her relationship with Luke. I love that Matt and Jess are actually close friends now.

Just thought I'd share😭✌️

What is your Mount Rushmore for greatest superhero castings?

What is your Mount Rushmore for greatest superhero castings? (Not villains)

For me:

RDJ as Iron Man, Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Charlie Cox as Daredevil, Grant Gustin as Flash, Chris Evans as Captain America

Why are people so against Daredevil being in Secret Wars?

Listen, I get that he is a street level hero but don't act like we haven't had street level heroes in big eventful movies before...Black Widow and Hawkeye are arguably a lot weaker than Daredevil, Iron Fist etc. and still they fought a whole war against aliens...so why can't Daredevil? I know he won't be in Doomsday at all but Charlie Cox is heavily romured to be in Secret Wars and I think that makes sense...every single hero from the last 25 years are coming back anyway so why not include the street level heroes.

Hell, the Thunderbolts are a big part of these movies and Daredevil could beat most of them... (minus Bucky and Sentry)

I know people want DD to stay grounded but won't it be cool to see the Defenders, Punisher and all the street level heroes in the final war?

For me:

  1. Daredevil season 3

  2. Daredevil: Born Again season 2

  3. Daredevil season 1

  4. Daredevil season 2

  5. Daredevil: Born Again season 1

What's yours?

Just for context, none of these seasons are even close to bad for me...even Daredevil: Born Again season 1 is a 7/10 for me

Do you guys genuinely think Doomsday and Secret Wars are going to be better than Infinity War and Endgame? I am hyped for Doomsday after all the positive reception from the early screenings but idk man, I don't think it can reach that hype Infinity War and Endgame had.

SPOILERSSS!!!

We got reports saying that the next season will feature the Defenders taking on a street level storyline and no more political mayor Fisk...which means it might actually be returning to the style of the Netflix series!

First off, Fisk shouldn't be the villain of this season...I think the best way to portray him now is to make it like season 2 from the original show where he isn't the main antagonist but he is still involved while in exile...they should explore more villains from the comics, Daredevil actually does have a really good rogues gallery. I'd love to see Mr. Fear, Bullet, Stilt-Man and villains like that...I'm also okay with it being the Hand if done right.

(just please don't make Heather's Muse the main villain of this season🙏🏻)

Anyway, I'm super hyped...we get the Defenders reunion, no more politics involved, back to the style of the Netflix show.

SPOILERS!! PLEASE LOOK AWAY IF YOU DON'T WANNA BE SPOILED!

I absolutely loved it! It kept me entertained and hooked from start to finish...the only weak episode I felt in this season was episode 2 but rest of the season was so peak especially episode 4 onwards, shit just goes crazy 🙏🏻.

I love the contrast between this season and season 1 where in the previous season, Matt was just Matt for majority of the season until the last 2 episodes while here, he is Daredevil for majority of the season until the last 2 episodes.

I think Vanessa's death was pretty shocking and handled very well, I love how they made us think that she was gonna survive but she died anyway. I also loved Karen a lot in this season, I loved her role in the story and her contribution to the plot. I was expecting Punisher to show up some point in the season but hey it's fine.

This season made Bullseye a top 5 MCU villain (for me) and I love how he seeks redemption by just killing even more people😭 the dynamic between him and Matt this season throughout episodes 4-6 was so amazing, they felt like Batman and Joker to me. I'm glad they are setting Dex up for The Dark Avengers. Dex was so well done in this season to the point where I'd say he is the second main character of this season.

I think the biggest surprise for me this season was Buck Cashman and Daniel...both of them were incredible this season and Buck was honestly one of my favorite characters this season, I liked the short flashback they gave of him, he is very charismatic, skilled, just an entertaining character. His relationship with Daniel was so good, it was the perfect ending for Daniel imo.

Loved seeing Angela finally be the new White Tiger.

Fisk was great as usual, nothing to be said there.

I only got a few negatives:

Like I said, episode 2 was a little meh.

I was so excited to see them set up Swordsman like that and I am a Better Call Saul fan, so I was very hyped to see Tony Dalton do his thing and the fight scene they gave him in episode 3 was so well choreographed and shot but I don't like how they got rid of him after episode 3...imo, he should've stayed the whole season with the resistance.

3.

I hated Heather this season, she didn't have much screen time compared to the first season and I honestly got annoyed at her whenever she was on screen...I wanted to slap her in the face she called Karen a puppet while she is a puppet herself for the Fisk Administration. I like that she is becoming Lady Muse but didn't like her this season, her relationship with Buck was alright I guess but didn't make her interesting enough.

I have seen some backlash for this season by some people saying it doesn't reach the scale of the Netflix series and imo, it's the 2nd best seasons of Daredevil right behind season 3 (it's very close). I am a little sad that the viewership had gone down by 46% but I hope it goes up again when people binge it since the whole season is out.

What do you guys think of it? It has received great positive critical reception by majority and I'm happy about that.

I'm talking about Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Punisher, Bullseye and characters like that...I know none of them are gonna be in Doomsday (minus the Punisher, depends on what happens in Brand New Day) but do you think they will be a part of Secret Wars?

Now I'm not entirely familiar with the 2015 Secret Wars story but all I've heard is that almost all the established Marvel heroes are in it, my friend told me Daredevil and Punisher are in it (Idk for sure) but honestly I think these heroes should be a part of Secret Wars...the Secret Wars movie already includes all of the live action Marvel heroes we have gotten since X-Men...why not include the Defenders and the Netflix side of the MCU too? Daredevil is also a big fan favorite in the MCU and fans will definitely be happy to see him in the movie.

I also saw a few Instagram posts stating that it's rumored Bullseye is in Doomsday? It's most likely fake but just decided to mention it.

After the finale of DDBA season 2, I think it increases the chances of him being in Brand New Day, we have to wait and see but what do you guys think? Should they join the battle in Secret Wars?

It'll be absolutely epic to see ALL the live-action Marvel heroes we have gotten in the past 25 years in the big screen together.

Do y'all want Sofia Falcone to be in The Batman part 2 or would you just like to see her in that rumoured Catwoman show?

Honestly I'm fine with either, she was a great character and I think she would make a great addition to the already stacked cast of The Batman 2

There should be no romance in The Batman Part 2, im a lil tired of every single Batman movie having some kind of romantic sub plot🙏🏻 I think it was done in a very subtle and good way in The Batman but I don't want him to have a new love interest in the next one...we know by this point that Catwoman isn't returning for Part 2 (most likely in part 3) and Scarlett Johansson has been cast...Im fine with her playing ANYONE except a new love interest for Bruce😭🙏🏻 i want a no romance Batman movie

Did Robin really say this or was it a translation error? Cuz I've seen some people say she actually said 'Gentleman' and not handsome man, I just wanna know out of curiosity.
