I picked up a used i7 9510 with a 3050 gpu. The battery that it came with was toast so I bought an OEM replacement. I am only getting max 3-4 hours of 1080p YouTube video playback time. The 3050 is disabled. It is running all on Intel video drivers. The FHD panel is at 40% brightness. I have undervolted the cpu with throttlestop. Power profile is set to energy saver. Turbo is disabled in BIOS. I was honestly expecting much better battery life with all these changes? Am I missing something or is this to be expected???? It’s not the OLED display and i9 cup that I have seen people complain about battery life so this is weird to me. I am not even running demanding tasks.

I got my used 2023 GR86 almost half a year ago. It had no noticeable scratches or dents. Today, I noticed a small door dent on the passenger side while the sun was shining on my car. It’s not noticeable to most people but I can’t unsee it now. Unfortunately, I live at an apartment complex with no assigned parking or garage parking. I always try to park on the last parking spot so I’m only next to one other car. When going out, I always park far from others to avoid door dings and shopping carts. People are soooo incompetent! I know it was bound to happen but it just pisses me off… Road paint chips and etched bug splats have also enraged me but those are more road condition issues, not caused by other people… there isn’t really a purpose to this post aside from me ranting 🫨 anyone else have this frustration despite doing everything possible to avoid it?

The WiFi chip on this model is soldered on so I am unable to directly swap it out. Windows and bios does not detect the chip. Aside from using a usb WiFi dongle, would it be possible to install a WiFi chip into the second m.2 slot? Does an adapter exist for that??? Any other suggestions? Thanks.

I am looking at a Facebook marketplace listing right now for this model. Seller claims that’s the Bluetooth/wifi chip is dead. Would it be worth it to pickup and use a usb adapter for connections? Thanks!
