Hey everyone,

I’m one of the filmmakers behind an independent film called JOURNEY, and after years of working on this movie, we’re releasing it in theaters on October 2.

The film follows Roberto, a man who was raised in the U.S. but born in Mexico. After being deported, he has to make his way across Mexico and try to get back home to his pregnant partner before the birth of their child.

At its core, it’s a story about family, identity, immigration, and what it means to call somewhere home.

We’re genuinely independent, no major studio behind the film or huge marketing campaign. We started with a small number of theaters, and our theatrical partners have continued adding locations. We’re now at 32 theaters across 8 states.

If you’re near one of these cities, we’d love for you to check it out. And if you know someone nearby, sharing this with them would mean a lot.

Opening weekend is extremely important for a small independent release like ours. If audiences show up, it gives us a better opportunity to keep the film playing and potentially expand into more markets.
