Capturing Rayman 2 through GOG Galaxy

Hello all.

I just setup my Twitch channel and was ready to broadcast Rayman 2 through the GOG Galaxy. It was an epic fail. I couldn't transition properly to the in-game as my mouse cursor disappeared. Everytime I start the application through the GOG Galaxy, the cursor is gone and I can't transition.

  • What happened - The stream was on Twitch and the music for Rayman 2 played in the background. The mouse didn't appear, and any option to transition was disabled.
  • My Setup - I have an ASUS Vivobook with a DELL HDMI Monitor (U2414H) connected as the second screen. Everytime I play Rayman 2, the game would immediately open on my laptop instead of the monitor.
  • My failed solutions - So initially, I rolled with it, moving OBS and GOG Galaxy to the Dell Monitor. But again, the mouse cursor disappears and appears disabled. I barely switched and again can't select the option to transition to Start/Stop streaming because the mouse is disabled whilst Rayman 2 is running.
  • Common Online solutions don't work - I looked at the common solutions like, "Enable Capture Cursor", "Capture Specific Windows", "DXGI Desktop Application" and "Windows 10 and up", and NOTHING!

Please help! I gotta get this ready for my schedule soon! Thank you!

N. Brio's allegiance is a plot hole.

Intro and Favourite Crash Game

Hi everyone.

Crash 2 was my first game in the series and the one I have the most nostalgia for.

I hadn't played nor even knew Crash 1 existed as a kid, so for me Crash 2 is the definitive standard of the series.

N. Brio

The one thing that confused me after its release was Nitrus Brio. Brio wanted revenge against Cortex and sent his goons after Crash, assuming he was in league with him. In the end, he sees that Crash gathered the Gems and gave him the honour of destroying the Cortex Vortex.

Then...he's absent until Crash Bash, which sees him on the "Evil" team. Since it was non-canon, I give Eurocom benefit of the doubt that they were asked by Sony to side him back to Cortex.

I haven't played TwinSanity nor the "Tattooed" Crash games so I don't count those, but fast-forward to Crash 4 and, lo-and-behold, he's back on Cortex's side for no reason other than wanting to usurp him again.

I mean, it's odd considering the conversations he has with Crash & Coco throughout Tranquility Falls, considering them friends. And the conversations you hear of him in during the flashback tapes are...ambitious to say the least.

What I assumed would've happened...and should've happened.

Brio as a villain in Crash 1 was fine, and his role in Crash 2 was sort of in-between due to confusion. I assumed his absence in Crash 3 as well as Wrath of Cortex (which I haven't played yet) was because he was on holiday, taking a break from villainy to finally live out his dream of Tending Bar.

But returning to Crash 4 as a full-on villain seems...random. I assume the writer of the game had never played prior games in the series, and I would've rather seen Tiny over Brio, since he's established as familiar and iconic enemy in the series. The only cameo of Tiny we get is a portrait of him in the Cortex Castle levels.

I expected Brio would've at least hung out with the bandicoots at their home as a half-drunk bartender that concocts power-ups for the duo with his beakers.

But in the end...I ain't complaining because:

Lose Brio. Get DINGODILE.

And I see that as an absolute win!

Death Machine Origin

For those wondering if Death Machine is an out-of place enemy, it actually debuted in the very first Final Fantasy!

The name "Death Machine" is the original Japanese translation to what it's infamously named in the west: Warmech.

This was a very rare enemy that could be encountered in the Flying Fortress, and although FF1 didn't have traditional superbosses (at least in the OG), Warmech is such an extremely powerful enemy that it can be considered one!

The red coloration is based on its original 8-bit form as well as the Pixel Remaster!

Make sure to complete the Player Survey! Ask the devs what you want, and receive 300 MogPay points!

Also, if anyone can do me a favor...I forgot to request the devs to reclaim missed Season rewards, such as the tutorial rewards which are missable. Thanks...

Character Poll Results from the recent livestream - Players voted for one character they want in the future.

The devs in the recent livestream displayed several polls from players, including for future characters. I don't know when this poll was, but it includes characters that are already in the game, whether they're playable or relegated to abilities. The results are different than the pre-release poll from Famitsu.

**Results of the Top 20 most requested characters (**Italics means they're already in DDFF, either as a playable or Ability-only unit):

  • 20th - Locke Cole (FFVI)
  • 19th - Gilgamesh (FFV)
  • 18th - Kefka Palazzo (FFVI)
  • 17th - Emet-Selch (FFXIV)
  • 16th - Kuja (FFIX)
  • 15th - Cecil Harvey (FFIV)
  • 14th - Celes Chere (FFVI)
  • 13th - Wakka (FFX)
  • 12th - Jecht (FFX) UR Ability
  • 11th - Aerith (FFVII) UR Ability
  • 10th - Bartz Klauser (FFV)
  • 9th - Vincent Valentine (FFVII)
  • 8th - Vivi Ornitier (FFIX)
  • 7th - Zack Fair (CCFFVII) R Ability
  • 6th - Yuna (FFX) UR Ability
  • 5th - Sephiroth (FFVII) Playable
  • 4th - Tidus (FFX) Playable
  • 3rd - Tifa Lockhart (FFVII) UR Ability
  • 2nd - Noctis Lucis Caelum (FFXV)
  • 1st - Squall Leonhart (FFVIII)

As an FFVIII fan, my favourite character in the entire series is number one! Man, when's the last time FFVIII topped a poll on anything? Of course, the list was dominated the most by FFVII at 5 characters, followed by FFX with 4, then FFVI with 3, FFV and FFIX with 2, and finally 1 character each from FFIV, FFVIII, FFXIV and FFXV.

The devs commented on the clear bias for fans' preference from one or two series specifically, but reiterated that the abundance of votes were motivated by players as "the one" character you'd like to be playable the most.

DDFF Player Survey Report

During the livestream that revealed Tidus, there were several polls prior that the team conducted that revealed specific results of player's preferences, such as how they play a game, what genre do they prefer, what appeals to them etc. Below are individual lists and results of these polls:

How often do you usually play games with the following control schemes?

  • Command-based battle system (RPG, SRPG, card games, etc.)
    • 45% - Plays a lot
    • 39.3% - Sometimes plays
    • 11.8% - Don't play as much
    • 4% - Don't play at all
  • Action-battle format (Fighting games, FPS/TPS, etc.)
    • 31.8% - Plays a lot
    • 36.5% - Sometimes plays
    • 23% - Don't play as much
    • 8.7% - Don't play at all

The general consensus is that players prefer the turn-based, strategic style of gameplay as opposed to the quick action style of gameplay. However, players who grew up with the turn-based Final Fantasy have been enjoying Dissidia Duellum.

Please tell us why you use the character you prioritise often.

  • 47.4% - Because their my favourite character and they're cool.
  • 22.6% - Because I have all of that character's abilities.
  • 20.3% - Because the character is easy-to-use.
  • 5.3% - Because they're a strong character.
  • 4.4% - Other

The majority of players chose the option "Because they're my favourite character" the most, meaning players prioritised favourites over the meta.

Select three things you would particularly like to see in future updates.

  • 69.2% - Additional playable characters
  • 28.6% - Expansion of solo content similar to Challenge Battles
  • 28.4% - Add costumes for existing characters
  • 21.4% - Addition of new stages
  • 20.7% - Expansion of time-limited content
  • 18.6% - New regular abilities
  • 18% - More bosses
  • 18% - Addition of a fully-voiced story
  • 12.1% - More FINE story conversations
  • 9.8% - Competitive content expansion like Season Casual Battles
  • 2.9% - Nothing in particular
  • 2.8% - Expanding user-to-user communications through Communties
  • 2.1% - Events outside of the game such as tournaments

Well, the results speak for themselves. More playable characters!
