For most of my life, I've looked at watches as accessories rather than actual timepieces. Now I'm finally planning to buy my first proper watch.

I'm a complete beginner when it comes to watches, brands, and movements. My goal is simple: I want one versatile watch that I can wear for almost any occasion. For daily use, I'm perfectly happy with my Mi Smart Band (please don't judge 😅). That being said, my preferences might evolve over time maybe towards smartwatches, maybe deeper into traditional watches.

Budget: ₹3,000, but I can stretch it to ₹6,000 if it's genuinely worth it.

Since I only plan to own one watch for now, I'd rather spend a bit more and get something that looks good, is reliable, and works well in most situations. If ₹3,000 doesn't get me there, I'm comfortable increasing the budget.

For context, my brother owns a Tissot PRX, which I really like, but that's obviously in a completely different price range.

What would you recommend for someone buying their first and possibly only watch?
