Looking to buy a single tome on fruit and vegetable farming and permaculture in UK climates and similar. If you could choose one book, what would it be?
The EU will soon be implementing the EU AI Act, meaning any commercial content shared online that is either generated, modified or enhanced must have the fact labelled in the metadata in the image, and in many cases must have a visible watermark somewhere on the image saying so.
As a designer working in the UK, but who works for clients who publish to the EU, this affects me. It's also a potentially cumbersome extra step in the workflow.
Photoshop automatically adds the metadata if you use generative tools within the application, but this metadata can also be lost with certain workflows. For example if working on a non-AI image and placing AI onto that, the metadata may not carry across.
It seems that a manual step must now be added before sending work to clients that involves identifying which assets have used AI and then either individually or batch editing the metadata.
Non compliance can lead to legal penalties for the publisher, and therefore has an impact on the creators/designers as the initial person responsible for adding the data or not.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this? How will you comply with this within your organisation or as a freelancer? Will it be an annoying step?
I'm far more accustomed to wild camping in Scotland but in the interest of following local laws, I'm looking for a stripped back campsite for the night. Taking a brief look, everything seems to be extortionate. For example the Long Meadow campsite just outside Brokenhurst charges £48 for one night for a small tent?!!! Insanity.
Anywhere that charges a more reasonable £5-10? All I need is a patch of grass. No car, just me and a bicycle.

Hard very steep slog through the dark jungle until the good views emerge after 5hrs, but very worth it.
Although I've seen this kinda thing around I'm taking particular notice this year at the single speed dropouts being used for the long distance bikepacking races. Lots of unique steel dropout solutions that allow for adjustable chain tension. I want something along these lines without having to get a custom frame. Are the frames pictured custom? I know the first pic is but unsure about the others. Any ideas?
Today I was cycling past the SSE building and saw a group of 30s/40s dudes in roller blades vibing and assumedly using the nice smooth concrete for skating on. And I want to be part of that. Didn't get a chance to stop and ask them if they're an organised club, but sort of looked like it. Anyone got details?
I have £88,000 in savings. £55,000 of which is in a Stocks and Shares ISA, the rest between a Lifetime ISA (26k) and the rest (6k ish) in a standard savings account. Numbers might be slightly off, off the top of my head but its roughly like this.
I'm in the process of buying a £130,000 property.
I've received a mortgage offer for a deposit of £55,000. This money is coming from the LISA and savings account first, and then withdrawing from the S&S ISA. Mortgage terms are 4.19%, 2 year fixed. 15 years.
But as I near the signing date for the contract, I'm wondering if I should put down a smaller deposit just using my LISA (26K), and not touch my S&S ISA. Doing so could delay my move in date by at least 3 weeks.
I know questions regarding paying off mortgage or investing have been discussed before. But I'm wondering what people here would do in this particular circumstance?
