When does humanising dogs get too far ?

Recently I've been trying address my dog's issues to the online community on reddit etc.

Honestly I didn't benefit or "learn" anything about dogs here; except that the online dog communities are rather unhinged and that members need a reality check.

It seems that they're only competing among themselves as to who's the biggest dog nutter.

On the other hand; I've come to see that dog owners are the one's in need of professional help - in the sense that they struggle with society and with connecting to people but somehow they can connect to a dog.

It doesn't make you any better than the next pal just because you feel a connection with an animal.

In fact, I'd be worried around such a person bc they lack the means to connect to humans.

Once again, the online community keeps pushing an aggressive agenda on how owners should humanise their dog, misinformation and spending more time, energy and resources on said animal - the sky is the limit.

That's clearly crazy.

I've never been verbally abused and threatened by any online community except those of dog owners.

At this point it's fair to say that they can take their so-called ( jaded ) knowledge, wrap it up in a burrito and sit on it.

My point here is that online dog owners seem desperate, lonely and they're not what I'd call the cream of the crop - and their using a dog to fill some inner voids is bc they can't attract a decent human being.

For example; I tried asking about my dog begging for food etc and the answers I got were contradicting in nature.

One crowd screamed "It's all YOUR FAULT bc you keep feeding him scraps.."

While the other crowd screamed "Why not give him some of your scraps...what's the big deal ?? You're a horrible person.."

One nutter even crossed the lined sending threats like "Don't you dare place your dog outdoors.."

Bro, are you in your right mind or are you telling me what to do with my dog ? Can you feel a connection to my dog from across your keyboard ??

Back to humanising dogs; where do you draw the line ?

Dog fixated with food ? It's getting annoying.

My dog is about 4 years old and he's pestering me with food 24/7 regardless of 2 daily meals and an evening snack.

Personally I attribute this "fixation" to my kitchen; and he lives indoors ( for now ).

He started asking for food by pointing to pantry and fridge; he keeps tabs on the kitchen all day all year - if someone walks in they ought to eat and he'll rush in to grab a bite.

Eating at home has become a daily bane with him around; if you push him out to the yard, he knows there's food being consumed and expects his share when you let him back in - if it takes you more than 20 min to finish your food, he starts losing his shit by grunting, crying and perhaps scratch the door.

The kitchen and "food" are driving him crazy; he can't get enough to the point where it's burning a hole in my budget.

He eats wholesome food prepared just for him; and it's the most laborious and painstaking path to feeding a dog - but he won't switch to kibble once gotten used to fresh products, warm meals and variety.

Suggestions ?

Does ignoring a dog encourage them to try harder ?

This rather complex to explain; but I'll try to be as synthetic as possible.

Obviously I'm one of those guys that was clueless about dogs or pets in general besides what he saw on tv.

As the years went by; I realised how stupid I was to pretend to care for the dogs "endless", constant and perpetual needs.

So I had to make things harder; buy 3 dogs at once and take the path of cooking daily meals for them - the most inconvenient and laborious route.

Now, after 5 years, I'm literally fed the fuck up with their daily upkeep and needs.

All I see is a bag of needs on four legs staring and clinging at me 24/7.

I live alone on a homestead and figured that dogs belong on a homestead to guard the property; they partially do so if there's eminent danger but for the rest they're obsessed with me doing something for them or the god damn kitchen.

Yelling at them all day everyday is not benefiting my overall health; but there's no other way - routine, trainings etc is pretty much a load of BS to be honest.

For over a year I've been yelling "Stop!!!" and "Out the kitchen!!!" but they couldn't care less if you're not keeping your eyes glued on them.

Nowadays I'm trying to use a new policy; and that is "I only feed you and take your issues and needs somewhere else".

Boom, it just opened another Pandora's box as it is naturally expected of dogs.

Now their daily bane is to get that god damn attention out of me in one way or another.

If I push them out to the yard; it takes exactly 1hr before they lose their shit and start banging on the door, digging holes, tearing things apart or just making loud annoying noises.

I'm at an age where I need less work and more rest & comfort.

But the dogs are the opposite of that; and so I wonder about dog owners in general: Are they OCD and run on cocaine ? Do they all live in a dump cause there's no way anyone can keep up with house cleaning with dogs living inside.

My question is; how do I get my dogs to scram and get busy with anything that's not:

- Me.

- Destructive behaviour.

- Begging for attention.

- Eating poop and pissing all over the house.

How to stop dog from entering the kitchen ?

Basically it's driving us mad and making us look insane infront of the neighbourhood.

Every day, all month and all year; we're screaming and yelling at the dogs to get out the kitchen.

Yelling seems to be the only language they understand for 5 to 15 min tops - then we need to start all over.

I'm probably gonna get a heart attack due to all the yelling.

From my perspective; every house has a kitchen and every kitchen has food - the key word here is food and it's grinding the dogs' gears.

They'll sit and sleep outside the kitchen just to keep an eye on who's eating or if they can catch a crumb or similar.

Push them to the yard and they'll start whining and crying to come in and keep an eye on the kitchen.

Now, we can't take the kitchen out the house for the dogs sake.

My question is this: Do dogs really need to live indoors or belong to a house ?

My life would be so much easier if they lived outdoors inside a shed; and away from our food and belongings - plus they can potty whenever they want = less work.

Can you train a dog to stay out the kitchen ?

Since awhile I've had this dilemma in my mind and can't find an explanation anywhere online.

Ok I do understand that dogs have "pent up energy" but what I can't understand is this:

Why take out their "pent up energy" and "boredom needs" upon destroying our home and yard ?

There's an alternative; I take them out to the woods near my place so they can get "mentally stimulated" and ravage the place like it's their last day on earth.

But they won't; in fact they'll freeze and won't blink an eye.

Take them back home ? They'll tear the place down or at the very least eat their poop and piss all over the house.

What's wrong ?

Isn't this the equation:

Dog + nature + exploration = happy dog.

They're hunting dogs; therefore their natural environment is hunting prey out in the woods .... ??
