How did the Staples know The Band?

I ask because The Weight on there is obviously iconic, and the Staples being added really elevated the song. It's interesting because they were very far from mainstream music, but obviously insanely talented and influential, so most people who saw it probably weren't too familiar with them. Did Robbie know them, did Levon know them? Where did the relationship with The Band develop. They were more than perfect for The Weight in every way...

This gem needs discussion

Anyone who sleeps on this album probably just never listened to it. This is a top notch album in every way possible. Robbies albums are all enjoyable, but this one really got some little known songs that are fantastic. Like the link above.

Someone posted about Doug

And I remembered this song and that it's literally the most beautiful song Lou ever wrote that Doug sang(subjective) so I gave it my all tonight. We recognize you Doug.

The Reunion Tour could of been so much more.

Here at the start in 1983. They were all singing and sounding peak. No new music just ever came through. I think this is probably what Richard was referring too when he said he saw millions of dollars just going by. These 4 guys could of easily come up with one comeback song that could of boosted them in the charts somewhere in the period, again it just didn't happen. They all surely were still playing fine here. Just in hindsight so many bigger things left on the table.

The Moon Struck One (2021 Remix)

Absolutely love the remixed version of this whole album. Really brings out some different textures...

Ronnie Hawkins Inducts The Band into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame at The 1989 JUNO Awards

Rick and Robbie still had mad swag here.

Also great to see Richards kids receive his award.

And as always Levon isn't present because Robbie is.

What can this mean in the following context.

Frequent infections and lesions in mouth. Wbc normal. Currently have some kind of prostate infection/uti thing.

There have been some faint band in urine and blood but no m spike has been detected.

Bactrim (antibiotic) with Lithium

Now I've read a little about an interaction with the 2 because they both work on the kidneys. However I do not have much of a option as I must treat a deep prostate infection. I have no idea if anyone has had to take this with their lithium. Luckily my lithium level is low at 0.3 every draw.

Feedback needed.

I can hardly sing, but I love it.

My vocal abilities are limited. My voice is thin, I struggle to stay in key. I had this realization, I'm playing for myself because I love these songs. Sure they aren't professional, but guess what they're a reflection of me. If you want to play, play. There's no contest. All forms of music is a personal celebration that should never be stopped. People can appreciate dedication and the bigger pictures. Never stop playing. Embrace your strengths and weaknesses. Keep singing.

The extended intro really sets the mood. Very dream like almost twilight zoneish if you get what I mean...

I was stunned when I discovered this existed. Very little info on it was mentioned anywhere, I thought the version on the 2000 Big Pink remaster was it.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. I will continue to share what I feel are historic recordings related to The Band in the future!

Historical because it's probably the last time someone recorded him sing this, as he would be moved on from here in 7 days..

So I recently decided I'd get back into sharing some amazing Band related tracks. Some are already aware of this outtake, but most aren't. By putting these on YouTube this stuff can be archived better and be more accessible to new and old fans.

How this didn't make the Big Pink reissue is very puzzling but perhaps it was a quality issue? The good news is there is more and I plan to share it so The Bands amazing legacy can be enjoyed for years and years to come!

I hope you enjoy this as much as I do (it's probably my favorite Richard Manuel track)

**YouTube might delete this.

This is just as moving as I Shall Be Released or Whispering Pines or even more so. This is real music, AI will never be able to replicate something real like this...

I'm sure I'll get attacked,

But I freaking love this.

Really reminds me of It's O.K. for some reason.
