Older men of reddit, if you're divorced would you be fine with being a step dad or father figure for someone else's children? It seems that many men these days don't want to take that responsibility

Is it easier to get into Medical School or FAANG in 2026?

Everyone says that it's easier to get into FAANG than medical school.

If that's truly the case then why are you guys complaining? You have a shot at a $200k salary right out of college with ZERO debt with a path that's EASIER than getting into Medical School

The reality is that if you put the same amount of effort as a medical student / resident did throughout your 20s then you would become a senior SWE at a big tech company and retire with MILLIONS in your 30s.

So tell me how CS ISNT the better option than med when if I put the same amount of work that I would have to get into Med school i'll get into big tech?

Why is CS so brutal?

I took 10A, 10B and am about to take 10C.

Nearly half of the class fails the course each time. I know this because if you don't get a 70% on the final then you fail the class. And around 40-50% of the students each time do not get a passing grade.

That would mean that only 10-15% of people would actually make it through all three classes.

Then we have people saying that CS is an easy degree when most people are failing out of the intro classes lmao.

Just imagine being in the top 20% of people who actually make it through and didn't get weeded out of CS entirely just to be compete with people all around the world for an entry level job, which in most cases they don't end up getting.

19M 5'8 121 lbs, I don't understand how I'm underweight yet don't look underweight..

I'm 5'8 and 121 lbs for reference but I genuinely don't understand because it feels like I have a lot of muscle and I'm not skinny at all.

I got a DEXA scan done and it said I was 17% bodyfat. I need to cut down to 14-15% bodyfat desperately but that will require me to go down from 121 lbs to 117 lbs, and I really don't think it will make me look that skinny because I don't look skinny to begin with.

How is it that I'm 121 lbs yet I don't look frail or super skinny?

Would it be safe to cut down to 117 lbs at my height? It's only a 4 lbs decrease from where I'm at and would ensure I go from 17 --> 15% bodyfat

Has there ever been a time when people thought things were going good?

I'm 19 years old and it feels like for my entire life there has never been a time when people have not complained about inflation, gas prices or some issues one way or another.

It's always been the same, people think America is going to hell every single year and how 10 years ago we were so much better off, yet 10 years ago those same people were complaining and yearning for a different era.

It just feels like there is never a time when people are happy with society and don't think it's crumbling, has there ever been a time in your lifetime-- when people acknowledged that society is doing well and that life is good? It feels like that only ever happens in hindsight.
