United Bag Drop Hours

I am arriving late from Asia and have a 5am United flight out where we need to recheck our bags. Online it says United counter is open from 4am - 1am but calling up the rep said 24 hours. Can anyone confirm which of these is true?

Jeffco Jury Duty Sheriff Scam

If you receive a call from a person saying they’re part of the sheriff’s department and you missed jury duty, it’s a scam. They will even spoof the real number. The sheriff will never call you and if they need to find you, they’ll show up at your door.

General Advice: If you are ever unsure about a person calling in, just hang up and call back the official number you can find on their website.

Epic Ascent program is going to increase class divide

The new Epic Ascent program just formalized the class divide at Vail mountains. The announcement touted new private lessons formats, concierge service, and access to rentals but they set the stage for way more.

Vail hasn’t implemented early access days or fast pass lines like Alterra but it is very easy to see the progression of the program to benefits like that. There’s an easy path to the implementation of Epic Ascent only lift access similar to Powder Mountain’s change to limit terrain to property owners.

Shame on Vail leadership. There’s still time to expand the skier population and enable the next generation of skiers and boarders through affordability measures utilizing the troughs in their highly inter-seasonal business.

Stocks that feel Inevitable

Looking to find stocks that “feel” inevitable in their success. Yes, I know nothing is a given but some companies are set up better for the future than others.
For example, ASTS has the tech to create near monopoly on satellite cellular service but they’ve been held back by delays and funding concerns. Or SLS has a phase 3 study that is in progress that is already well past the expected end date of the trial.

What stock do you feel has a strong thesis and why?

Moving the Closing Time back to 4am changed the festival feel

I was thinking about why the festival vibes felt different this year vs other years I’ve gone and I think pushing the closing time for the festival’s sets to 4am instead of 2am really changed how people approached the festival.

One of the best things about Forest is the activities, the gifting, and fun that happens during the day but because headliners now go to 4am, it feels like the day has become more of a slog so you can make it through the night. In addition, moving back closing time has effectively forced the entire festival to experience after parties instead of a select few who want to stay out later. I think it impacts the *rugs people are using and the type of people attending the festival.

My recommendation for next year: last sets end at 2am, gates close at 4am for those that want to stay later, and dedicated after hours locations where the sound is directed away from camping areas.

Gilligan Moss set was one of the best sets that no one saw

He was scheduled at the same time as Griz on Friday night and played one of the best sets I’ve ever seen. It was criminal he had a conflict with Griz but then again, so did Fred Again 4 years ago.
