Visitor visa couple with no marriage certificate

My parents are applying for Canadian visitor (tourist) visas. One of the documents requested in the application is their marriage certificate.

The issue is that my parents got married in a small town of India in 1977, when marriage registration was not something that was commonly done in their area and family. Their marriage was never formally registered, so they do not have a marriage certificate.

They have been married for nearly 50 years and have official documents such as their passports and Aadhaar records that identify them as spouses. They have also previously travelled to the USA, and a marriage certificate was not requested during their visa applications.

For the Canadian visa application, however, the document checklist is asking for a marriage certificate.

Has anyone here been in a similar situation? Especially for parents or older couples who got married in India decades ago but never registered their marriage?

What did you submit in place of the marriage certificate?

No marriage certificate for Canada

Manuel Neuer’s 2014 World Cup run completely broke football tactics

Before Neuer in 2014, keepers rarely left their line. He revolutionized the sport by playing as a true 11th outfield player, allowing Germany to play an impossibly high defensive line.

He was the anti counter safety net for the team as their center backs (Mertesacker, Hummels) were notoriously slow. Neuer played far outside his 18 yard box to intercept long balls before attackers could reach them.

In the Round of 16, Algeria repeatedly broke Germany's defence. Neuer single handedly saved the game by registering 19 touches outside his penalty area, clearing counters with his feet, chest, and head.

Instead of booting the ball long, he had the passing vision of a midfielder. He acted as a pivot, making it impossible for opponents to press Germany from the back. He was kind of like the 11th outfield player.

He took home the Golden Glove that year and the World Cup trophy, finished 3rd in the Ballon d'Or, and permanently shifted the meta.

Today, elite managers won't even look at a keeper who can't play with their feet.

Every modern ball playing keeper today is playing in a tactical world Neuer built in 2014.

In my opinion, he should not have come out of retirement and should have let Baumann, Ter Stegen or Nubel take up the job for the 2026 tournament.

Designer Lane at Shahpurjat

I went to the Delhi Photography Club at Shahpurjat today. After exiting the place I came out towards the side of The Designer Lane. That lane is something I had never seen. I had heard of such places near HKV, but had never seen a place like this. It felt like some high fashion street. Are these designers some renowned ones? It felt like Ameer logo ka Chandni Chowk.

Heads up for the new fans who started watching from this World Cup.

Unlike all the matches played until now, the Match Day 3 of every group is played simultaneously to prevent match fixing and ensure fair play. If the matches were staggered, the teams playing later would know exactly what result they need to advance, potentially allowing them to collude and play for a mutually beneficial draw and that no team can secure a result based on the outcome of the other game and teams must play to win rather than settling for a calculated draw.

The rule was implemented by FIFA in direct response to the infamous 1982 World Cup match between West Germany and Austria. Because of how the previous games in the group had unfolded, both teams knew that a 1-0 win for West Germany would result in both nations advancing while eliminating Algeria. After West Germany scored in the 10th minute, both teams essentially stopped trying, casually passing the ball among their defenders.

How to get recommendations?

I imported my IMDb data of 17 years to Letterboxd few months ago. I have been +Logging the films I watch since then. One thing I am unable to find and if anyone can guide me in that regard. Where do I get film recommendations on the basis of my ratings and logging? Like in IMDb I used to get that in the “Top Picks” section of “What to watch”. Their algorithm used to tailor recommendations based on my ratings. Where can I get something similar here on Letterboxd? Thanks in advance. :)

Are you also stuck at this infinity buffer for house tax?

Any alternative apart from physically depositing it? UPI Apps?
